System G is recommended in petrol cars as per the ford manual.

For diesel cars, there are no recommendation in the manual and it says as:
''We receommend that you use only high quality fuel without additives or other engine treatments.''
You can use diesel that contains up to 5% RME (bio diesel). Prolonged use of supplemental additives to prevent fuel waxing is not recommended....''

I dont know, if any other manual has something written about system-D??

When did you put synthetic? Ford has sent a circular to its service stations asking SAs NOT to recommend synthetic to customers. I am not sure if it was meant specifically for the petrol or the diesel.

The manual only recommends System G for the petrol and not System D for the diesel.

oops!! I very recently upgraded to the Synthetic oil (completed only 1K). During my recent visit to Chennai FORD they asked me why did you put Syn. oil for the TDCI, since it might affect the Turbo charger" like they said. I have no clue about that. But am really feel noticable diffenence in the engine sound, it's lot smoother now. Now im in a confusion like should i go for Fuel Addictive or not?. Any experiences please..

Tyre make is MRF. My gut feeling also that it can run for another 20K KM. I will check with outside tyre shop as well. The problem with Hyderabad is that we may not get the right answer from the outside tyre shops as well. I will enquire in a couple of shops and update the thread accordingly
Check and let us know. If you are changing tire, then its better to change all 4 at one go.

I'm not sure why synthetic oil is not recommended for TDCI. I used to use only Turbojet for the first 20 odd thousand kms. Then switched to Shell, and now, saada diesel! Once in a while, I do a full tank of Turbojet. More for peace of mind than anything else!!

I too heard it from the Service Advisor at Mody Ford. He said all their outlets stopped selling synthetic oil after that. I believe many petrol Fiesta customers complained of knocking sounds from the engine after using synthetic oil. They were earlier selling Mobil brand of synthetic oil.

Did a Chennai trip with Shajufx over the weekend, which added another ~800kms to the odo. Managed to get a small nick on the door, thanks to a stupid decision on my end and some brave driving!! I've never been on the Krishnagiri - Chennai bit of the GQ and it was a really good experience driving on it. The germ of a whole GQ drive is starting up!

Met up with TBhpians sanjayc, gilead and kiku at Chennai. Thanks guys for the refreshments and dinner! Looking forward to meeting you all again.

Goot do know you guys had a get-together. What was that decision that led to a nick on the door? I hope it is not bad.

It was our pleasure to meet some really good human beings at Chennai. I really thank them again. Thank you Sanjay for the best coordination. Thanks to Vijay (Gilead) for the new ICE audition, we enjoyed it. Also thank Kishore (Kiku) for meeting us a second time Sunday morning. I was in a bad state sunday morning, something of the dinner didnt go well with me, a head freezing AC in the room added to that cutting my sleep to just 3 hours.

Unni decided to test the width of a narrow lane which an auto guy would think 3 times to get in. We realized the big mistake as soon as we got into it, more than 10 bike guys honking behind us and no way to go ahead. I even thought about 'air-lifting' service numbers. Seriously. Had to literally lift and move half a dozen bikes, carts and sand bags to make way to realize we ended into another narrow lane where only cyclists dare to move .

We will visit Hyderabad very soon, team-bhpians, please show your hospitality.

Well, we were searching for the hotel in which we had booked our room, and the entrance to the hotel was a narrow one-way lane. That meant that we couldn't go in that way, and had to find an alternative way. And me in my infinite wisdom, finds one, that seems to be a road that connect to it, and will get us to the hotel. Remember that we have been driving through the jam packed Chennai roads for close 2 hours by now, and a lot of things are wearing thin by then!!

I take that lane, and it has bikes parked on both sides, with load carrying auto-rickshaws delivering stuff, lots of people, general confusion. The Chennai guys will be able to name the street. After that it was unlimited fun!! Honking bikers at the back, language not known etc etc. Its in that lane, that I managed to get a nick. Actually, the Chennai guys were surprised that I survived with just one nick. I was later told that people don't even take their bikes through that route!!

Well, if one is looking for the silver lining, its is that I know my car's extremities

Man, that was scary!! Good to know it was just one nick----I got mine within a week of buying my car---and I've left it as a trademark.

Gilead, the hotel location is opp to Casino theater..it is accessible quite easily from Blackers or Wallers road ..the problem was I think they took a wrong lane/turn landed bang inside the Richtie street mess instead of Meeran Sahib St.
