Oh buddy, I thought people look for expensive ones than our humble fords !! You should check it first with 'chor bazar' shivaji nagar, I have seen a bucket full of them few months back while passing that way. Hope you know they also work on 'customer demands', you have to meet them and wait for 24 hrs, someone else will lose theirs, but they are very 'customer satisfaction' oriented

If you are lucky, you may be buying your own emblem too LOL !!!

Maybe I should take a walk around and see if I can manage to get one!! Jokes apart, I'd rather go for a new one. The ones at chor bazar have after all been flicked from someone else. Need to visit the service center some time this week. Hoping its not expensive.

Golly,

I've been seeing quite a few Fiestas in Hyderabad without the bezel, including one in my block that is parked close to mine.

I too was wondering how much it costs. But I must confess that the front looks drab without it.

Do let us know how much it costs.

I think one should invent locks for those too, like those for wing mirrors.

In my case, I would call myself lucky, while cleaning the car, the Ford Emblem from the Front grille just fell off. Looks like the glue just decided to give away and I am sure it would give away eventually for almost all the cars. They should have had a different mechanism for this like a simple screw to hold it for ever.

Lucky indeed. How did you stick it back on? Rightly said, a simple screw system would do, which cannot be unscrewed from the outside.

Parts:
1. Engine Oil - Rs 1029.07
2. Oil Filter - Rs 437.89
3. Fuel Filter - Rs 1233.48
4. Wire Strap - Rs 35.24
5. Jet Clip - Rs 17.62

Labour
1. 90000kms Service - Rs 1150
2. Misc - Rs 100

Total - Rs 4530

14th Service @ 99623kms - This is was a major service, since timing belt needed to be changed. I had also asked them to check:

17. Clips - Rs 58.80

Labour
1. Brake Inspection - Rs 288
2. Gear Shift Cable - Rs 128
3. Timing Belt Install - Rs 890
4. Timing Belt Tensioner and Idler Pulley - Rs 96
5. Cooling system drain and filling - Rs 192
6. AC Switch Remove and Install - Rs 192
7. AC Check up - Rs 288
8. 1lac Kms Service - Rs 1100
9. Consumables - Rs 100

Congrats Sir!
Great to see the car is still serving you beautifully. I quite miss the fiesta as a daily drive. Was just so nimble, and easy to live with. Perfect for the city, and the great stability and handling made for a good highway drive as well. A little more power wouldn't have hurt though.
Hope you enjoy many more miles to come!

Thank You! It serves my purpose and will remain with me for some time to come. Now that it has done a lac, there are thoughts of doing a remap or a piggy-back chip to get some more oomph out of the 1.4litre! Lets see how it all pans out.

Congrats Man!!! Wishing you to enjoy more miles with this beast.

As my Car going to reach 90K in this month, Is this right to do the timing belt change? SA advised me to change this any time between 90-1lac and he quoted around 20K for the change. Only ODO is matter or even the years? ( mine is Feb-2006 batch)

Thank you Jebs. Yes, it would be the right time to change the timing belt. The service book advices the timing belt to be changes at 1lac Kms or at 5 years. Since its more than 7 years since you have acquired the car, it is advisable to get it done now. The damages that may arise from a break of the timing belt are extensive, and expensive to repair.

When I got the car back from servicing, I did check the timing belt, the pulley and tensioner that was replaced. All looked fine, and the SA did mention that they are in good condition and may keep going. However, since it was a timing belt, it was changed. No point in taking a risk.

Hey Ram! I didn't ask them specifically to check the water pump. Hoping that they did have a look at it and that nothing is wrong!

Dear unni.ak sir,

Congratulations on completing 100,000 kms on your car. I have a few questions to ask if you don't mind.

1) What is this 'wire strap' and 'jet clip' that were replaced in your 13th and 14th service?
2) The 'shifter cable bush' in your 14th service, what part is this? Is the stick, here the same as gear knob?
3) How is the engine grunt after all these years? Do you feel like as if the turbo has become a little weak?

Thank you for posting your service details and I wish you many happy and trouble free miles with the fiesta.

Thanks,
Simple_car

Simple_car sir!

1) Wire strap is used to tie the wheel cap on to the rim! The same kind that is used in super markets to tie off plastic covers in which your purchase is put. Jet clip is used to tie down or hold in place electrical wires and such. If you look at the prior services (details are in the this thread, across a few pages back) these are items that are normally used and billed in service.
2) Yes, it is the gear shifter.
3) Engine has, I think, become a little louder and shudders a little more than when it was new. But then those are the vagaries of age!! . The turbo still feels strong, and the engine pulls well, as it used to.

Thank you for the good wishes
