Even i was surprised to hear pressure plate change so early. I will ask them to change clutch fluid and bleed clutch lines.
Vasanth, Which Hella aux light do you have? Comet series?

Comet 500FF look good. How is the performance and how much did you pay including installation charges?
Check the clutch return spring.
Of course the clutch can go if you've been a wannabe schumacher:)

Acceptable for the price and size. It can be just a support for the headlights. Also anything bigger in size may look odd. Put 100W in the hella's and shift to stock power in headlights. Give the connection like i did , so that it will be flexible .
forgot the installation charges. wiring installation done at hyundai . fitted the clamps myself .
After about 2,500 KM of driving with the Mobil Delvac 1, I checked the oil levels this morning. Wanted to see if they have reduced - primarily because the new filter might have drank a bit, and I did not check if that has happened till now.
All good - no drop in oil levels. And the oil is definitely worth the extra $$$ I paid, IMHO. While it is very hard to find fault with the performance of the I4 1.5L CRDi VGT mill even with mineral oil, Delvac 1 has made the engine more refined - especially at idle. The rocket feels as eager as ever, and quicker too - wonder how I can substantiate that to the oil change, and not the perception :). The growl after 3000 RPM actually sounds like a threatening growl than anything else, that I enjoy taking it there every now and then!
Looking at it money-wise, I used to spend about 1000 bucks for 5l of Delvac MX, and change it every 5k KM. With a planned change of 10k for the Delvac 1, I have spend Rs. 3900 for 10,000 KM in engine oil, instead of Rs. 2000 - which is, for me, a worthy investment. Mind you, if the is still good at 10k, I will push it to 15k. Considering my daily run has 40% of highway, and 40% of off-peak traffic where I can do ~60 KMPH without much ado, I think 15k should be do-able.
What is bothering me in the gears. After the darn A.S.S made the switch to the mineral oil, I find the gears too notchy, especially while shifting down to 2nd or 1st at low speeds. This was not a problem before this oil change, and am seriously thinking of replacing the gear oil soon. Any suggestions of a good synthetic gear oil for the rocket, considering original Hyundai synthetic oil is unheard off in this part of the country?

Hey, i used to change the mineral engine oil once in 10000 kms only. Need to change in 5000 kms? And me too facing the same problem with the gearbox. Will discuss this when we meet tomorrow.

Its very difficult to source synthetic gear oil in India. I tried a lot, all in vain.
Finally, got it from HMP. :)

Don't tell me you are using it? I tried googling it, but ended up with a bunch of German results!

I used to change it every 5k primarily because most of my driving used to be in city, in bumper to bumper traffic. Its good to have a 5k change schedule for extreme conditions our city traffic throws at the car - I think it is also mentioned somewhere in the user guide too.
But your driving would involve a lot of highways, no? I mean, if I were so close to the Salem - Coimbatore NH, I would make sure I blast 100 KM up and down at least once a day :D

I guess if I don't get any, I will have to ask you get some and ship it to me!!! But then, isn't ANY synthetic gear oil available in India? Mobil has its Delvac series of gear oils - no luck?!! :Frustrati
After much discussions
here, I had locked up and ordered a JL Audio 450/4 in July 2010. While the
rest of the stuff reached me one by one by September, this one was stuck in Obamaland - till now! Landed in this morning :D
Now for the ICE work to start - wait for updated :)
And this milestone was reached this morning, as I was driving to Coimbatore.
After planning meet over meets, me and fellow rocket rider @Undead met for a few quick minutes near Bhavani in NH47. Had to take a rain-check on his invitation to drop in home, as my cousin (who brought the JL) had just landed in from the US this morning, had missed the morning Chennai - CBE flight and had to reach CBE as early as possible for a family function.
Diesel costs Rs 42/L and Petrol costs abt Rs 67/L in Cochin. My nano gives me abt 19 kms with a/c, and getz gives me around 16 kms/L.
Working out, for my weekend home town trip, around 300kms, I have to spend Rs 300 more for Nano.
Why should people buy petrol cars anymore? :Shockked:

That was a short and nice visit . Since you are in CBE , you could try Koyas if you are in need of seat modifications. They will ask 2 days time for full seat modifications. That will make lot of difference in comfort during long journeys.
@ ph03!x - Do you always keep the fuel level to the max ? My Rocket's needle hardly sees past halfway mark..:D

Keep the nano for short, less than 5 KM runs, and keep the Getz for anything higher :)

I would need to put up some seat covers - but not this visit. There is a family function that will keep me occupied till Friday. I will be dropping by every 2 weeks or so, so there is always time!!

:) I have the 1/4th mark as my warning sign to top-up. This might be just me, but I believe that the more fuel you have in the fuel tank, more the pressure in the fuel lines, and the easier it is for the fuel pump - it has to pump fuel into the common rail, generating 1350 bars of pressure.
