Mr. Pachchu, thanks for the pics and the review.

On picture no 9 mentioned as "AirCon motor and drive motor", looks like that motor is driving the aircon compressor only. As you mentioned, there must be another motor to power the car. Where is that drive motor? Sorry for troubling you. Bit curious.

as you rightly pointed out, what you see on the picture is the motor and compressor side-by-side and the air-con tubes below the compressor going to the a/c vents in the cabin.

the drive motor is concealed below the hard-casing on the right side of the compressor, right behind the jack. I may be wrong on this as I've seen it opened in another reva only once long time back at the reva-seva.

in fact, that's one of the reasons why the cabin is noisy when the a/c is running and quiet otherwise. it is the sound of the a/c motor and compressor that is so close to the driver's seat.

Beautiful review sir. Really glad to have come across this.

Voted 5 star.

Just one thing though. The transmission is not a CVT. As an electric motor produces full torque from zero rpm, it does not need gears to keep it in the powerband.

So, AFAIK, the reva has a fixed gear transmission system.

I suppose one can use the 'Boost' mode to tackle those ramps.

Thank you labeling the dash/other parts of the car.

We sometimes refer each other as petrolheads, dieselheads, etc. Now we have too add batteryheads too !

Thanks for not calling lead-headed...

Pulling power on ramp: More than I expected actually. The ramps from my apartment parking lot and also from my office parking lot are quite steep. I never had to put on Boost to scale it even when the 2 and 1/2 of us are in the car. I don't speed up too much on the ramp either, as there's a children's play area right next to the ramp (that's a terrible idea!). In my office ramp, I have scaled many times in reverse as well.

Then the gear shifting must be real smooth. Since I also drive a 4-gear Santro AT, I never felt the jerky gear change in Reva that I feel in Santro on sudden accelerations.

007, I wish I had the glamor girls you get for saving the world!

I saw a few bike ads boasting 100/107/112 kmpl... I just dug up some info on google - the following have claimed 100+ kmpl (though actual mileage in city may be lower).

TVS Star City
TVS Flame 125
Bajaj XCD 125

One not so renowned bike manufacturer one from Kotkatta :: Global Automobiles :: Two Wheeler Manufacturer claims 125kmpl!

the reva is very promising indeed especially now with the new long-life battery and all.

if an Airconditioned Reva was avail in the 2.5 lakh price range, it would turn many of us around! 4.5 lakhs for this is too much money!

No! There are no gear shifts at all in the Reva!

It's like being in one gear all the time. No need to shift because of the flattest torque curve in the world
