Congratulations once again HW! A nice set of pics. The beast looks stunning. I love the photo with the fine drops of water from the rain on the vehicle.

Cheers and drive safe!

Congrats Suresh - wow choice of color, waiting for detailed driving experience with the car.

One thing I didn't like is seat covers, didn't gel with the beige color interior and why seat covers on leather seat covers on GX model !

Suresh, congrats and wishing you many many happy miles with your Safari. Take it easy for the first few weeks and get to know each other and then let's take it out for a 4x4 baptism one of these weekends.

Hey, you got Michellin tyres? I thought it was supposed to be Yoko Geo's. Any reason for Michellin's??

Congrats again and hopefully from tomorrow I should see one more Safari in the office parking lot :-)

@RKBharat: Was my grin so obvious? Thanks mate!

@GPA: Thanks a lot! Yes, the rain effect was sweet. I just loved it!

@SimplySunny: Details will flow in as and when it happens.

@Vivek: Thanks mate! Yeah, the color came out much better than expected. Seat cover, mmm.... , explaining it further below.

@Khan: Thank you! Will take it smooth for some time. Yes, Yoko's were in order, but there was a last moment shift at the tire shop. Reason given further below. And yes, one more Safari in the parking lot from tomorrow! (now I wish (a very very selfish one) that they had kept the roads bad at the stretch at the back of the campus!!!)

@JKD: Yup, Mich OEM size.

@Rocky_Balboa: Thanks mate! We do need to meet, lot of things to be discussed, all the way from the HTC to the Safari!

Now for the questions on everyones mind as to what kind of person will place this lousy seat cover over the beautiful leather-fabric GX seats: For the record, I love the OEM seats! They are too good. But, they are kind of difficult in keeping it clean. First of all from my family side, with a kid (who will have food, coloring, and all dirt after playing in a park, etc) and next from grease monkeys at the service station. So, I thought it was best to put a darker shade cover, that can be changed periodically. The sad part is that they made a COMPLETE mess of the fitment! The seats are more pathetic than they look in the photos! Need to get some competant person to tighten it and make it a perfect fit.

About the tires: Geo's were in due to the reason that we have them tried and tested in the forum here. But I got advices that Michelin's were better and between Geo's and Mich, Mich wins. So, off went the Geo's and in came the Mich's!

About the ride, so far: Love the attention and the respect on the road. The light are totally inadequte! With the oncoming traffic driving at full-beam and my 55/60 lights, I was driving blind! Too dangerous. Kept following a car for safety. Need to decide between Osram's 55/60 (which are highly recommended) or just a plain swap of bulbs to 90/100 (need to check if this is still possible; it was in the 3L) or if I need to do a relay + bulb change. This is regardless of the fact that HID's are in-store later.

Don't lose any sleep over this one buddy, Suresh thinks he saw some one who looks like you sticking posters about how a thread can run on and on without the actual purpose of the thread nowhere in sight.
All in good humor.
