Tata Safari 2.2 VTT - Black Beast - 8.5 years and 100,000 kms up!

It was one of my childhood dream to own a tata safari and this dream came true on 31st Jan 2009 when i bought beast.My first observation in the first 1000 km was the road respect i get even by the bule-line and other passenger cars.
I took a while to get used to the size for driving it in city traffic.It took only 11 day to complete the fist 1000 kms and counting.

List of Accessories Loaded
--------------------------
1. Bull bars
2. JVC Dvd Player
3. RC Rear Camera and 7" display
4. Sony Xplod Speakers
5. Neo Alloy Wheels
6. Autocop Central Locking
7. Fog Lamps
8. Autoform Custom Seat Covers

Also Did Teflon and Under Body coat at first service.

Issues Faced till now
-----------------------
1. Both front windows loader changed (Slow topup and occationally getting stuck) (in First 2000 kms)
2. Front windshield bottle leak - replaced - (At 2000 kms)
3. Ac fuse blown - replace with 30 Amps (At 5000 kms)


Road trips done till now
------------------------
March - Rafting Trip - Rishikesh and around - 800 kms

April - Discover Rajasthan - Delhi - Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kumbalgarh, Udaipur - Delhi - 2200 kms

Aug - Delhi - Manali - Rohtang - Delih - 1400 kms

v&v, congratulations on your dream acquisition, i know how does it feels getting behind those wheels.Black has always looked the best on safari's and scorpios but also they does require more time to maintain as well.Which variant did you choosed and what were you offered/discounts/dealer experience do share with us as well.wishing you more happy miles on your wheels.

What is the mileage that you have been getting from it in city and highway conditions?

Thanks vijay. Mine is a Lx 4x2 version. I got a discount of 35k after a hard negotiation.

i am getting 11 in city with Ac and highway got around 12.5

congratulations on completing 10000 KM milestone. Wishing you many miles of trouble free driving. My Safari looks the same except the alloys... haven't been able to find a set that will make me change the original steel wheels.

Hi V&V,
NIce Safari you have. I also have Safari Ex and on this dewali we are planning to buy Lx. I just wanted to know if i put Stereo, Fog Lights, DVD Player Screen and other accessories, will my vehicle Warranty be Void?

No as long as you are not tampering the electrical system its ok. Reverse guide and Central locking i got it done from the dealer itself. As for fog lamp i did a separate wiring.

Attention : Safari Owners - How safe is the spare wheel cover ?

hi,
yesterday my safaris spare wheel cover got stolen from my society parking. Some body just unziped the cover and vanished.

I dont know how safe is the spare tyre ?

Can any one suggest what it cost for new cover ?
