re: Fiat Punto 1.3L MJD. EDIT: 82000 km completed!

Battery replaced after 39700kms and 3 years and 4 months as a precautionary measure.Although the old battery had not died completely , but it had started showing signs of age.The stock battery was 50Ah , but there is Enoch space to fit a 55Ah battery properly .
Got amaron FLO 55 AH battery from www.batterybhai.com for 5050 Rs in exchange for the old one.Battery bhai offers very reasonable prices and good service highly recommended .

50,000 kms

Update :
Completed 50000 kms recently , the car is still a pleasure to drive , no major squeaks or rattles till date.
Experimented with abro fuel injector cleaner with a full tank of diesel and the results were quite good , noticed better pickup and reduction in roughness after 30-50kms.
Mileage has been hovering around the 16kmpl mark for quite sometime within the city .

The car had collected a few scratches and minor dents over the past 4+ years ,so on reaching the 50k milestone ,got all those fixed at trend automotive as it was the recommended place in bangalore by many bhpians .Although the work was not extraordinary it was satisfactory for the cost.

re: Fiat Punto 1.3L MJD. EDIT: 82000 km completed!

finally replaced my 40k odd old GT3 with yokohama c drives (195/60/15).There is world of difference between the 2 tyres C - Drives are super comfortable and silent . Cannot comment about the wet grip dry grip is as good as GT3. highly recommended .

Congrats. How much did the C drives cost you? Doesnt the C drives have softer walls than the GT3. Any other tyres you considered before zeroing on the C drives?

re: Fiat Punto 1.3L MJD. EDIT: 82000 km completed!

C-drive costed 4700/- per tire.Yes they have softer side wall compared to GT3 that it the reason for a much more cushy comfortable ride.Steering feels lighter too.I checked XM2, A drive ,assurance & MY02 ,XM2 is the best i feel among all these but i don't think 1000 Rs premium over the C-Drive is justified.
I like the pattern on the C Drive and also my main requirement was a comfortable ride with good grip which C Drive's provide at a reasonable price. They are are very silent as well.If XM2 were available for within 500 Rs of C Drives i would have probably gone with them.

I am very pleased with this choice of tire.

4700 is a really good price. Which shop did you purchase the tyres from?

I got it from Tire empire in HSR layout, but they did not give any deduction for old tires and alignment balancing was charged extra.

Fiat Punto 1.3L MJD: 82000 completed!

Posting after a long long time .

Car has been munching miles slowly and running flawlessly .The odo now stands at 82000Kms .I am really happy with the way the car has been holding up and going about its business without much fuss. Recently replaced the timing chain and the battery as part of regular maintenance .

Meanwhile the traffic in Bangalore has increased by leaps and bounds and a manual transmission no longer feels comfortable .Even though i love the car but an automatic is the need of the hour .New car search is on and we have shortlisted the duster AMT as of now .

It’s going to be really tough to let go of this car, everyone in the family is emotionally attached to this beauty. Hoping a find a buyer who would take care of her the way we did.
