Hi Ravi,

in the last pic, below the windows sticker its written that "designed for windows mobile" if i am not wrong! what is that?

Since Blue and Me works even with non windows mobile phones, i am confused with "designed for Windows mobile" logo!

My Fiat Linea gets a new Fiat keyring

My Fiat Linea gets a new keyring with Fiat logo. I received it this morning from UK, ordered in ebay.co.uk on 26.5.2010. The cost of this item was GBP 6.99 + shipping GBP 1.25, the total amount being GBP 8.24 [Rs 579.35]. Before ordering in ebay.co.uk, I tried in fiat.co.uk/accessories. They quoted GBP 10 for shipping to India, the price being the same. The desi keyholder costs Rs 1923.40 as per Fiat India website. So, finally I got it from ebay. Here are some pics:

The keyring came in nice presentation pack

The keyring gets down to its duty immediately!

My Fiat Linea is going to get more accessories, both desi and imported!

Smart buy. The key ring looks very cute. Adds more charm to the cabin.

Thanks for sharing. Do keep us posted on future add-ons.

Great going Ravi. You have got on some really good accessories. How does the keyring compare with the desi one?

Thanks, Kapil, for kind words. After seeing the price of the desi keyring [Rs 1923.40], I didn't venture to compare! However, I compared with the other cheaper Chinese keyrings. But, I felt this was the best and went for it.

Ravi, good purchase.
The desi one is no different from the one you had purchased. The desi one is too costly !

Door Sill Plates Or Kick Plates For My Fiat Linea

Finally, I could get the door sill plates or kick plates at Chennai.

On 17 June 2010, I decided to explore all the automobile accessory shops located in General Patters Road. I went from one shop to the other. I got strange feed-backs ranging from 'Fiat Linea? Imported car?' to 'Fiat Linea's accessories are not available now. Perhaps, they may be available in future'! But, in Jawahar Auto Spares, #37, General Patters Road, Jayapradha Theatre Complex, Chennai 600 002 [phone: 4215 8485], Mr J Sushil Jain, showed me the Winner brand door sill plates [4] for Fiat Linea [and also for Punto] comprising each 2 front and rear door sill plates, costing Rs 950 per set. He claimed he had other accessories for Linea like window visors [Rs 950 per set of 4], boot mats [Rs 350], etc., but I didn't see them. Fixing was easy. Just peeled off the top layer of the sticker and pressed it. Presto! It's done.

Here are some pictures. The top two shows the front door sill plates and the bottom one, the rear door sill plate.

How is it fixed Ravi? Will it be possible for you to procure a set for me too?

Kapil,

As I mentioned, it is pasted on the door sill. Just peel off the top layer of the sticker provided at the bottom of the plate and press it against the sill. That's all.

Of course, I can procure a set for you. But, my next trip to Chennai will be during September 2010 only. If you could wait till then, I shall procure and supply it to you.

Raviji: I see that you travel a lot in the Linea. Then wouldn't Diesel be more economical to you??

FiatMyLife,

My usage is less than 10 k km per year, which does not work out economically in favour of diesel option.

The door sills look really good. Kudos for taking the trouble of actually digging up this stuff.
