re: Cara Mia Fiat Linea! EDIT: 71,700 km and sold!

^^ See the picture where the colour shade is mentioned. There are manufacturer codes on the right side. There is Tata also, so all Tata colours should also be available.

Ravi sir,
How has the drive (any issues) and FE on both the trips been.

Have you ever felt that a diesel would have made more sense, coz you seem to be doing quite a bit of HW drives, right?

re: Cara Mia Fiat Linea! EDIT: 71,700 km and sold!

Thanks, AvinashKeezh.

The drive was fine. No issues at all. FE on the highway was 13.5 kmpl and overall FE 12.9 kmpl.

My usage is less than 12 k km per annum. So, cost-benefit ratio doesn't work in favour of diesel version notwithstanding frequent hikes in petrol prices.

More Goodies For My Linea

My eldest daughter presented Cara Mia Fiat Linea with windshield sun-screen and re-chargeable portable vacuum cleaner brought from Australia. Nowonwards, I can charge the vacuum cleaner from the AC socket and use it without draining my Linea's battery. Here are some photographs.

re: Cara Mia Fiat Linea! EDIT: 71,700 km and sold!

I did a quickie Bangalore-Chennai-Bangalore trip yesterday/today in less than 18 hours.

Self and wife left our Basaveswaranagar home by 9:45 am yesterday in our Linea, lunched at HSB, Vellore, reached the first port of call, Gandhi Nagar, Adyar, by 4:30 pm, completed the work, reached my home away from home at Royapettah at 5:30 pm, got refreshed, reached Aishwarya Mahal, Koyambedu, by 7:15 pm, attended a marriage reception and had a sumptuous and delicious dinner, visited my relative at Orchards, Arcot Road, Vadapalani, left at 9:45 pm and reached our home, sweet home by 3:30 am today. We were greeted by unseasonal torrential rain from Krishnagiri to Bangalore. My Linea's windscreen wipers worked overtime at the maximum speed.

Some vital statistics: Total to and fro distance travelled: 745 km. FE for inter and intra city driving: 13.0 kmpl. Average speed: 55 km/hour
  (1) Thanks

FIR on AC upgradation

I am fully satisfied with the AC upgradation of my Linea done by Concorde Motors, Mysore Road, today. I reported to the service centre with my Linea in the morning, sat there till evening and returned home just a couple of hours ago. I was treated with regular supply of coffee/tea in the customer lounge where I enjoyed watching the 2011 World Cup match between Pak and NZ.

* I definitely felt cooler with more inflow of cool air inside the cabin for the same temperature and fan speed settings in my Linea's ACC.
* Inside the cabin, I didn't feel more sound due to enhanced ACC. But, my wife came out of home and enquired, why our Linea was making more sound!
* During interaction with the SA [Chethan]/mechanic [Kiran], I learnt that there are two types of AC upgradation kits for Linea, one each for Emotion/EmotionPack and Dynamic/Active. For Punto, there are three types of kits one each for Emotion/EmotionPack, Dynamic and Acitve [1.2].
* When I showed the sticker indicating 1.2 ACTIVE pasted on my Linea's original condenser [see the photograph below] and enquired whether the upgradation was due to fitment of kit meant for 1.2 Active version, the SA did not have any answer.
* After completing the fitment of new AC kit, they refilled the coolant almost to the brim and my Linea's engine was kept idling for about half-hour. Although I knew the purpose, I enquired the mechanic the purpose behind it. He explained that if that was not done, then the coolant level would fall drastically!
* My Linea had complimentary car wash after AC upgradation.
* When my Linea was handed over to me by the SA, I found that the day/date/time settings in the MID and EcoDrive were intact.
* This time, I found that the customer lounge was not crowded and I got back my Linea at the promised time.
*The value of AC upgradation was about Rs 10 k according to the tax invoice. Thanks a lot, Fiat India for that.
* As I don't have any complaints this time, I gave 10 out 10 in the instant feed-back form that was given to me.

Ravi sir,
Is there a diff in the compressor for the 1.2 & 1.4 engines?
I suppose that's the only reason FIAT is changing them on LINEAs.

re: Cara Mia Fiat Linea! EDIT: 71,700 km and sold!

AvinashKeezh: During this AC upgradation programme, compressor is left untouched. Things like cooling module comprising the condenser, fan and metallic pipe and rubber hoses have been replaced. Perhaps, the compressor for 1.2 and 1.4 versions could be different. I don't know.
