recshenoy: After one month and 1000 km, I am getting used to drive my Fiat Linea both in Bangalore bumper-to-bumper driving and excellent Bangalore-Mysore 4-lane SH 17 and good-in-some-stretches-horrible-in some-stretches-NH 48. So far, I have not exceeded 2500 rpm because of initial running-in. After driving Maruti Suzuki Omni for 12 years and Versa for 5.5 years, I find the Linea driving experience totally exhilarating! I fully enjoyed the fantastic ride, handling qualities, superb ABS, adequate power, apart from Blue&Me. The best FE I got was 17 kmpl on highways with 5 occupants and CC at 21 degree C. The only downside I noticed was when the car is fully loaded with 5 occupants, the engine/exhaust pipe guard sometimes touched the big and crude road humps, especially near Nelamangala NH 48 and NH 4 junction.

How did you manage 17? That's great. The max I have got is about 15.6 on the Mumbai Pune expressway. 2 occupants and A/c at 21. BTW, the FTA now has a premium of Rs 8000/-

Pragmites: FE of 17 kmpl was achieved in highway sedate driving not exceeding 2000 rpm, 70 to 80 kmph speed in day time, with 5 occupants and CC at 21 degree C. Rs 8k Premium for FTA, wow!

Just now, I contacted Fiat customer care toll-free number: According to them, the premium is Rs 5 k on ex-showroom price. But, in my case, when I booked, I had indicated Medium Grey. Subsequently, I changed it to FTA. But, I got it without paying the extra Rs 5 k. The customer care executive informed that charging premium for FTA was intimated to the dealers after some time after introduction of the colour. Hence, the first few lucky customers got it without premium and I am one among the lucky ones to get it without premium, whiich I came to know now only! Thanks for information, Pragmites.

Yesterday, we had been to our village, Veedur, and then, to Puducherry [Pondy] in my Fiat Linea. I got the best FE of 18.1 kmpl of petrol consistently from Hosur to Krishnagiri, with 3 occupants, CC at 21 degree C, playing CD player, maintaining 70 to 80 kmph and not exceeding 2500 rpm. Afterwards, it got reduced due to bad stretch of road from Krishnagiri to Thiruvannamalai, and hence, frequent change of gears. After return to hq, the average FE worked out to 15.3 kmpl of petrol. I am fully satisifed with my Fiat Linea's performance.

When I had been to Concorde Motors recently, I casually asked the mechanic about the usage of specified concentrate for windscreen washer fluid for my Fiat Linea. He said, only water was used in Concorde Motors! He recommended the usage of water [or water mixed with shampoo!] for windscreen washer fluid instead of specified concentrate. After coming home, I topped with the solution made with the concentrate.

Congrats on your purchase Ravi. FTA is the best colour in Linea, pity it wasn't available when we bought ours. Hope your Linea gives you enough joy. From my experience- substract around half km to a km from the MID FE display to get the actual values.
