I guess you may have already looked, but one place you can try is body shops [both M&M authorized and non-authorized] where Scorpios go for accident jobs. You never know, you might get lucky and find a total loss specimen which you can then scavenge for this plastic cap.

Yes - found one for the right side, not the left.

Thats the problem with these parts which are not replaced regularly.

I am facing a similar issue on my Scorp. Since the LX comes with the manual ORVMs, there is a rubber knob which is used to control it. The one on the left side got damaged for whatever reasons, and the ASC says this rubber part is not available on its own - the whole ORVM assembly has to be replaced. Madness, i say!

I have a couple of those rubber knobs, since I ve replaced both my ORVMs on Hariya. Let me know if you need them, I can give one to you.

One of the shortest intervals between services: 3 weeks.

60k km service performed on 16 March 2012.

65k km service done today (6 April 2012) with the odo on 64922 km.

In the interim, I had the engine check light come on while returning from Kolkata. A scan at the ASC last Sunday showed DTC P163B. Error was reset and turned up again the next day. The vacuum modulator was replaced today under warranty (cost Rs.3475+taxes) to address the DTC issue.

Wheel alignment continued to be a bother with a slight left pull, despite the alignment being checked the last time - however, we were on the road and didn't get a chance to report back for correction until now. The caster readings were out by a slight bit, and the same corrected FOC.

A leaking silencer joint was also tightened.

Total cost: Rs.2247. Time taken: 6 hours.

A team from Mahindra has been calling me from quite some time. Finally I agreed to meet them at 12 Noon today. They want to meet me on the customer experience of my Scorpio 4WD.

The problems I have with this vehicle are.
Frequent electrical failures.
Bad odour entering the vehicle even when AC is on recirculate, this was a problem in my Xylo as well which I sold off.
A ticking sound coming constantly from the vehicle when AC is running like a relay switch going on an off. I had asked Mahindra to fix this problem earlier as well and left the vehicle with them for three to four days but this was not resolved. Lets see what they come up with today.

Desertfox, you seem to be in the wrong thread, but I would certainly like to know what electrical failures your Scorpio has had.
Was there ever a failure of the shift on the fly 4WD selector?

As for outside smells entering the cabin, this is normal in all cars. Even on full recirculation there is about 10% outside air that is allowed to be let in.

Thanks to gd1418 and his referral of Sagar Motors, Gurgaon, I've finally replaced the missing cap today for the princely sum of Rs.95!

Do they usually stock those? I am in need of one, although I did not loose mine, last year, someone stole it from my vehicle and had the mind to attach it to the vehicle parked next to it! Only problem is that it has lost some of its teeth (!) so have attached it with black tape.

Its on the right side. I wont mind the wait, as the blacktape is hardly conspicuous.
