100 kgs to be precise - 2510 Kg for 2wd, and 2610 Kgs for 4 wd.

yeah do the spiti loop, but dont combine leh with it, just came back from that loop, the best time to do it is after the rains, when the adventure of roads being there OR not there ;) and yeah not to mention landslides where you cant actually test your 4wd, i did it in the 2 wd scorpio was succesfful

The dream vehicle many here waited for; the first at TBHP and India too?

A query; have heard that 4x4 Safari and 4x2 Safari handles differently, is it the same for Scorpio?

And you might want to change the OE tyres asap if you want to do serious 4x4.

The extra 100kgs is due to transfer case, and a front diff, so you will have slightly lower GC, but with a two tonne vehicle, it will not make much of a different.
Yes, changing OE tires should be the first thing

Thanks jk. Will update you on 4x4 vis-a-vis 4x2 handling, but my experience with the Refresh 4x2 is minimal - can compare with a 4x2 2.6 CRDe which I have driven earlier.

As to the tyres, they are Bridgestone H/Ts, and since 95% of the running will be on tarmac, I plan to use them to their full life. Serious off-roading is not for me, but 4x4 is meant to take me places a sedan can't.

And yes - the car doesn't get bullbars and decorations. My cars stay stock, and so will this. Only additions would be a gear lock, convex mirror inserts on ORVMs and a rear door mirror.

Yoko Geo AT/S is the right choice for you - trust me ;)

You'll get an excellent exchange price for the Stones if you get them changed as soon as you're out of the showroom.

Agree with Suman here. Its easy to get the HTs nicked by a stone, and then you don't get anything for old tires.
Right now just out of showroom you will get 4500 odd for each tire.
So for 7000rs you will have 5 new tires.

PS: Do get the BStones changes ASAP as said, numerous nicks is what I carry now on these tyres.

I have Yoko Geo AT-S on my Jeep, very impressive on and off the road. I'll change the GV tyres too into AT-S in couple of months.

@SS-Traveller: Congratulations on your purchase! All i can say is right now am on envy mode with you. I would love to add this beast in my parking any time.

Loved your posts, i can imagine the look on the sale's guys face and it indeed would be an sight to watch. :) Also i would agree with the tire suggestion by others, best to upgrade them as soon as you leave the showroom, will give you best results and VFM.

Funny buying experience. Your long wait for off roader had came to an end buy owning the first 4WD Scorpio in T-BHP,infact first in India as well.
