I don't know. Can ask him and find out.

Wasn't scary as such - more educational!

Some days, the shit hits the fan. And then there are those days when you need to drive roughshod over the accumulated shit. Yesterday was one of the latter days, and in such conditions, having 4wd is such a boon!

Serves you right. Respectable doc like you, crawling around in the back alleys of Gurgaon! Now get the scorp an underbody wash.

On second thoughts, quite a video you made up there, with some mad max music and thought baloons .

Yup, it is the same for most cars out there. Also, while it looks scary, it isn't. Good A/C mechanics do it in a jiffy but it is time and effort consuming.

Hello Joy,
Thank you. I had to reset it and the mahindra service was glad to help me with it. It seems, our scorp is the only 4x4 AT scorp in our city. hence the special attention. all good!

5 years and 2 months, 118,251 km:

The first crash happened with the car last week, as reported on another thread.

But then, if your eye itches, the reaction is quite automatic. Except while you are driving, it's probably not a very good idea - because that's when you lose peripheral vision to that side. A few seconds of peripheral vision loss isn't too bad, especially if you are driving on a fairly empty carriageway - until a madman comes up on your blind side. And blindsides you.

7:20 am today, and I was happily driving along the Ring Road in Delhi, heading from South Extension towards Lajpat Nagar and onwards. That's when my left eye decided to itch. Watch what happens thereafter.

The damage was mostly confined to the front bumper, with a nick on the front fender plastic cladding.

Found a very efficient repairer of plastic parts such as bumpers and claddings at Zamrudpur, and he did a pretty good job of putting things back together for all of Rs.3500. Photos of work in progress yesterday...

The final result looks decent enough. There had been some minor damage to the plastic caps and mudflaps attached to the footboards over the years, and these were also repaired and repainted.

The battery had been protesting for the last couple of weeks, and refused to crank effortlessly. At 5 years and 2 months, it has done its duty and much more. It was time for it to retire.

Replaced it with an Amaron Go 105D31R 85Ah (bigger) battery yesterday, at an exchange price of Rs.4200.

Two questions.

1 Did you choose to ignore the errant Corolla driver or...?

2. Can we have the pics of the final result?

I am not sure what you mean. *choose to ignore* - what other choice did I have? Chase him down? I don't think that I could have managed that.

With the masking off? Sure, I hope to take some pics and post in a couple of days.

Will wait for the final pics now.

That was a lucky save for the Corolla guy. His rear end lost it but luck saved him from banging the mid-wall separator or the LCV.

There you are - the bumper and the front caps on the footstep after repair and painting.

Did the bigger battery fit properly on the original base plate ? I will also do the same when replacing the battery in a few months.

That seems to be a great price. Can you please tell where you bought it from?
