Congrats for the white beast. I would like to know the service costs involved? Is it comparable to innova? I expect to get my car next month...

Dilip
From the list i saw at the workshop the service costs are comparable to the Innova and Qualis.

There are no high priced spares or labor costs and all in all the vehicle will be quite easy on the pocket when compared to other high end SUV's and Cars.

Thanks for your wishes and best of luck with your Fortuner. It is indeed worth the wait.

Read your review on Qualis, loved it. You have bought my dream car, even we will buy a Fortuner, because fortuner is truly a upgrade from Qualis.
The Qualis is still my favorite daily drive. Even after driving the Fortuner the Qualis does not disappoint as it is effortless to maneuver in traffic and offers a unimpeded view of its surroundings.

Its a superb vehicle.

Can you please tell me how is the demand of the car in north. I am frustrated to the core and thinking of cancelling my booking. Yesterday the dealer told me I will be getting the car before 15th but now its february. I think they are selling the car on a premium here. I know three owners who booked in october two months after I booked and they all got it last month. The dealer nippon toyota is definitely playing foul.
Please DO NOT cancel your booking Dilip. I know it is frustrating to wait like this but you are so close to the end dont give up now.

The Fortuner will put a smile on your face everytime you drive or even sit in it. All your troubles will be a distant memory soon.

If you do infact cancel you will only help the devious dealer who will sell your allotment to someone else for a fat pay packet.

Ask him to commit to your delivery date in writing.

You can take the help of Toyota Customer Care at Bangalore, they are indeed helpful and efficient.

As far as the Fortuner goes you will be blown away by its POWERFUL engine and SMOOTH delivery. The interiors are extremely well put together.

All in all the car is real value for money as it feels like a car from a much higher price bracket altogether.

Please dont cancel your booking as you will regret it later.

At least Galaxy Toyota in Delhi has them. But i feel they procure them from an importer in delhi then paint and install them themselves.

You can get the name by doing a google search with the keywords " TRD Kit Fortuner Delhi"

Anyways!!! Mannuj great choice, and congratulation!!! enjoy the new ride.
The foruner was infact allotted to me and they were trying to give it to someone else.

I just got back from a 1200 Km drive in the Fortuner and i must say it is an absolute pleasure to drive.

Its got great aceleration and control with very little body roll. A white M-Hawk in front of me was literally doing the samba while i felt no body roll whatsover on a particularly wavy surface.

The Fortuner touched 140 kmph without breaking a sweat and cruised lazily at 120-130 kmph. Top speed achieved was around 180.

This car is real value for money.

thanks Manujj for your advice. They now says the car will be reaching them after 25th only. If its that much difficult for them to honour their commitments then why are they reopening the booking? Yesterday night I sent a lengthy mail to toyota but they have not responded till now. Also are you planning to upgrade the music system. I heard galaxy Toyota is selling DVD touchscreen system. The folks here dont have any idea about that.

Cheers
Dilip Kumar

Don't have much of an idea about the touchscreen system..i would not mind upgrading if they gave me decent value for my current one and as long as the steering controls are compatible with this system also.

Will check it out and update you.

The Fortuner has done about 2500 kms now with an average FE of about 11.5 kmpl.

The engine, driveability, pickup, fit and finish, gearbox, headlights, power delivery, interior space and practicality, maintenance costs, and ride quality are superb.

The noise levels, braking, interior lighting and choice of music system are just about par.

The Fortuner has F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C road presence and turns heads wherever she goes.

Here are some more close up pics of the Fortuner including that of the Bosch Jet Washer.

Yes i did..but not at Galaxy Toyota..it is available at Karol Bagh at "Expert" for about Rs. 25,000/-

It would be a grey market purchase with no bill or warranty involved.

It can be interfaced with a Reversing Camera (Rs.2000) and Navigation.

The Steering Controls are compatible with this system and would continue to function.

Cheers and CONGRATULATIONS on the impending delivery of your Fortuner!!

Looking forward to some pics and a nice writeup on the delivery experience!

Congratulations! Finally!! What are you doing with the Original system? Is the guy at Expert taking that? If so for how much?

Do post lots of pics of your car with a nice report of the delivery experience..really looking forward to that!

All the best buddy! Enjoy your ride! Do make sure you have a couple of thousand rupees in your pocket for the first tank up! The 80 liter fuel tank sure can take a small fortune to fill!

Hi all! I took a trip over the weekend to Rajasthan..I am attaching some pics for you all.

The route was Delhi to Pushkar via Jaipur and Ajmer (1st Day), Pushkar to Ranthambore National Park (2nd Day) and Ranthambore to Delhi Via Tonk and Jaipur (3rd Day).

Total kilometers covered on the trip were about 1150 KM's and an average FE of 11.7 KMPL.

Speed varied between crawl speeds in traffic jams and the forest roads to 160 kmph on the beautiful Jaipur Ajmer Highway.

The Fortuner performed beautifully all through the trip on the Highways and Offroad conditions also.

A good feature of the trip were the admiring glances, smiles and thumbs up signs from complete strangers on the highways and cities where the Fortuner went.

Enough said..here are the pics..

The white fortuner looks menacing. Superb trip there. Making full use of the beast.

Also efficiency seems to be good at 11.7 kmpl for the vehicle of this size. Now I want more 13+ kmpl

Manuuj, how are the brakes? Any issues there? Asking this question because, dilipkumar7278 mentioned in the other thread that braking at high speed (beyond 100KMPH) is a problem.
