Congrats on the car Manuuj. She is a wonderful machine n handles great. Top speed touched in mine was 180kmph. The only issue i find is the gear lever vibrations at top speed.
Enjoy the car and a great value for the money spent. Drive safe.

Here are some pics of the Fortuner on its first 1000 km check up..i had it done at 800 kms only as i needed to go out of town and needed to get the wheel alignment and balancing done.

You may notice that the gold emblems have been replaced by the OE chrome ones..the Fortuner looks much better now in my humble view.

The first pic is of it on washing..the next two are of the heavy duty pressed steel underbody plates for protecting the engine sump and Fuel tank..sorry for the grainy pics..

Here are some pics of the interiors too..

Actually i found the braking to be just fine..good and smooth infact.

It was just a matter of getting used to it i suppose as during the test drive in August i too felt that the brakes may be inadequate but now after driving my Fortuner around 800 kms i find that the brakes are working quite well especially so if you downshift and use engine braking in an emergency situation.

HIGHLY recommended. Helps in flushing out metallic particles from your oil. Inevitable accumulation after the running in period.

Also i had no idea that Teflon is a no-no on Team Bhp..why so?
In a nutshell, teflon is useless . First of all, its not suited to our harsh climate and will, in all probability, chip off /fragment after a while. Second, if you really want to keep your Fortuner looking good, get her waxed & polished ever so often. Much better solution than Teflon.

At the checkup that i took the car for the 1000 kms service the service advisor and technician said there wasn't any need to change the oil as yet.

I'm thinking now, after what you have said, that i shall take it in around 1500-2000 kms again when the engine has been run in properly and have the oil changed.

I'm confident that by then all the metal shavings that do chip off would have done so by then.

As far as waxing the car goes i do so every couple of weeks with my other vehicles and shall follow suit with the Fortuner as well.

I have found the Formula 1 "Metallic" (comes in a blue bottle) to be the easiest to use and also the one with the best and long lasting results.

Wonder how it will work on the mica white though?

Congrats for the white beast. I would like to know the service costs involved? Is it comparable to innova? I expect to get my car next month...
Cheers

Manuuj,

liked the background of the vehicle enquiries and the 3 mins response to an email is like Killer. This kind of response makes one think of owning a toyota product (other than excellent quality)

Glad those gold plates are gone, else you would have been mistaken for a policitician, with White fortuner and gold all over

So is this your daily drive now out of the other SUVs ? Range Rover, Pajero, Scorpio (and others, in case I missed)

Congratulations Manuuj,
Read your review on Qualis, loved it. You have bought my dream car, even we will buy a Fortuner, because fortuner is truly a upgrade from Qualis.

Hi

Ur Fortuner looks great .

Even i have gone through the dealer ordeal of booking a scorpio M Hawk and did not get the time i wanted my beast .

I can understand the frustration of how it feels having paid up and not getting ur vehicle in time ....

Can you please tell me how is the demand of the car in north. I am frustrated to the core and thinking of cancelling my booking. Yesterday the dealer told me I will be getting the car before 15th but now its february. I think they are selling the car on a premium here. I know three owners who booked in october two months after I booked and they all got it last month. The dealer nippon toyota is definitely playing foul.

Is the TRD kit readily available from all Toyota dealers?

Yes either the dealer made quick buck or ditched another customer to whom this white furtuner was alloted.

Anyways!!! Mannuj great choice, and congratulation!!! enjoy the new ride.
