Wow

My experience of Honda auto transmission (ancient original Civic, and Rover 620, the British-Built Accord) is that the hydraulics soak up the power --- the slush-box effect. However, my Rover was only 2.0, and I always thought I would be happy with just the next step up. With the V6, I guess you have way enough power to spare.

I think it is a dream car too. I'm a believer in small cars for city driving, but practicality need not get in the way of dreaming . Congratulations!

thanks guys. pics will be up by tomorrow night or wednesday morning.

suhaas - id have to rob a bank to be able to afford mugen parts.

thad - this car feels pretty powerful inspite of the autobox. i cant imagine how a manual would be.

guys, this car is not a car for traffic. today it was stuck in bad traffic for about 20-25 mins and boy did it guzzle fuel in that time. probably as much fuel as would be used when ripping it. and id prefer ripping it.

and another thing is before i got this car i kept thinking about how i would mod it, get a cold air intake and a remap etc. now after getting it ive realised that this car is powerful enough, it dosent need any mods. so im gonna hold on for a while, get used to the car and only if i find im getting bored (very unlikely) will i start performance mods.

Yup! Mugen parts are ridiculously expensive! I'd come across this City with some authentic Mugen parts (Dashboard gauges, alloy wheels, induction kit and cat-back) and this itself racked up a bill of 3.5 Lakhs!

Give it a good set of wheels for now! 17" or 18" would look real nifty!

Good luck Akshay. Take care of her! And don't forget to give us regular updates every now and then!

I like/see the way you have put up V6 bang in the beginning of the title .
I think you are OK , even if gives 2 KMPL .You want to just do pedal to metal .

For some things like 10 lakh accord , you have master card ....for the kick and grin you get every time you floor it , is priceless . Drive safe dude .

thats the plan. ive been advised not to go above 17". so ill stick to 17s with 225/50 r17 advan sport. this should happen within the next month or two. ice will happen by april since i have to collect everything slowly. the other thing that should happen soon is angel eyes and xenons.

i will update this thread very regularly dont worry.

that just about sums it up. even if you drive in traffic for an hour, get an empty stretch, let it hit the redline in first and second gear and you forget about the past hour. feel totally refreshed.

I can't either, because I've never driven a V6, manual or auto!

A light touch on the gas is the order of the day, I'd guess

yes thats right. you wont believe how responsive this auto is. its as responsive as a manual in the engine powerband. a light touch and the car moves forward, not like other autos where the accelerator seems dead.

Congrats on buying MONSTER.

But be careful about these two things

Humps - You can easily damage your front bumper if you are not cautious while driving over hump/potholes.

Cornering - Be careful while cornering at high speeds as suspension setup is a bit soft.

Witnessed these two while dragging with an Accord.

Linkway guys are much more professional, honest and knowledgeable than Arya. This is my experience.

sorry for not putting up pics today. have been a little sick. will take pics tomorrow.

i have also fixed up a service at arya for friday. linkway is just too far away and since im not doing anything major i dont think it will make too much of a difference.

anyway in the next week i plan to-
-get the car serviced, engine oil change, radiator flush, air filter cleaning, injector cleaning if required.
-get high security number plates. the present ones look very cheap.
-get the little dent above the rear left wheel fixed.
-get interior and exterior detailing done at rhyme and rhythm.

brraj - thanks ill keep that in mind.
tejas - arya is much closer so i might as well try them out at least once.

i gave the car for a service to arya honda today. i must say arya honda is very good. i dont think linkway can be much better than this. and i would recommend arya honda to anyone.

the things that got done were-
-engine oil change
-oil filter change
-fuel filter and air filter cleaning
-diagnostic tool check
-injector and throttle body cleaning
-injector o-ring replaced
-some radiator fan diode was missing so the part has been ordered
-small rattle from the parcel shelf fixed
-the drivers side window did not go up on auto up mode, was fixed but again cropped up in the evening, will have to get it checked when i send the car for the diode.
-touch ups in a few places
-brake checkup and suspension lubrication

all in all the bill came to Rs.5632 after a slight discount. now who says the accord is an expensive car to maintain.

and again i say, arya honda is very good. the car was ready on time, washed and cleaned very well, heck they even gave me a box of chocolates when i was leaving. good experience.

now for the pics. tomorrow. im sorry.

Good move Akshay. Getting the car serviced right away was a smart move! Now we can't wait for the pictures!

P.S. When do the 17" wheels come on?
