seems like what fuel used does make a huge difference on this car. when i filled normal unleaded from ioc and speed from a slightly smaller pump the car is not even giving me 5kmpl. but when i filled xtrapremium from a big pump it goes over 5kmpl. i really didnt think slightly better fuel would make such a big difference on the fuel economy. but heck, theres a v6 under the hood, who cares about fe.

one thing ive noticed about this is that it seems to be much better put together than any other hondas like the city or the civic. even after quite a bit of hard driving on the terrible mumbai roads, not even one squeak or rattle. but one slightly irritating thing is that the suspension is a little noisy, you wont feel the bump but you sure as hell will know you went over one. on smooth roads its a different story altogether. i guess thats due to the larger rims.

Buy regular IOC from the big/reputed pump and see if it helps.

Update -
im thinking about ordering some ows synthetic oil for the car. is ows worth the extra money or should i just stick to mobil 1? also thinking about getting the ows vitamins for the car.

another thought was that i should change the transmission oil since its 2.5 years old. its probably just a better thing to do than to risk any transmission damage.

also i think the battery should be changed.

any opinions on the above?

Mobil 1 is A+ grade. After 73,000 kms of hard-driving on my Vtec, the engine has retained each and every one of those horses. Hold on for a full dyno run thread.

On an AT, you bet. Go ahead with the tranny flush + fluid regime.

heres a video showing the capability of the v6. mine is a bit slower due to the indian engine being detuned a few horses.

also forgot to mention, how much we in india get ripped off for performance parts.

got a quote today for a magnaflow catback and for hawk hps brake pads.

the magnaflow catback exhaust quote said 54000 whereas its available in the us for $630 + at most $200 for shipping maybe a bit more for customs. still works out about 12-14k cheaper.

also for the pads, for all 4 brakes the quote was 15000 whereas they are available for $200 for front and rear. huge difference if you ask me.

HID's without projectors? Shame on you man, you'll be blinding everyone coming from the opposite side without even wanting to!

anyway the projectors in those taiwan lamps are of suspect quality. but let me see if i can retro fit projectors into these present headlamps. the only thing is opening up the full headlamp.

9006 9005 Bixenon projector system, complete

ishan any opinion on the brake pads?

Retrofitting projectors is a better idea than sourcing the entire unit from Taiwan. As you said, the quality is suspect so it's better not to go in for them and regret later. Besides, I'm told that the Accord's electricals don't take kindly to the aftermarket headlight units! The malfunction easily, apparently!

If you aren't going to retrofit the projectors, then I suggest you shelve the plan of installing HIDs altogether! It's not worth having people shout at you from the other side!
