Nice car, Akshay. I'm surprised that you can actually do 200 kph in India with the unruly traffic around.

Cheers. Drive safe and keep her happy.

The high speed stability isn't as good as the germans, but its not bad at all. U hardly feel the speed upto 180kmph. The car has 2 weaknesses, the soft suspension, and the rather underpowered brakes. Of course after the wheel and tyre upgrade the stability is much better.

I did it on the bandra worli sealink at 330am when there is sparse traffic.

EXCITING UPDATE -

I'm out of town atm. In the us of a. I've decided to postpone the ice upgrade for a few months. Instead I have ordered the k&n typhoon cold air intake specifically for the accord v6. It adds 10.4 more horsepower and considering the 2007 model had a better gearbox and a slight power bump I should be looking at around 235-240 crank hp. Of course will try and do a remap soon too. I just hope it arrives before I leave here. Pics will be up soon.

It has an option of installing as a CAI or a short ram intake. I will be installing it as an SRI for now because in the CAI the filter sits right behind the bumper and I don't wanna risk water getting sucked in, in the monsoon. So a full CAI after the monsoon. I'm excited.

EDIT - forgot to mention. A city V a/t should be joining my garage in a month. The getz is sold.

K&N UPDATE - INSTALLED

so i went today and got the k&n typhoon installed. it is a cold air intake with 2 pipes which you can join. the first pipe is short and if you attach a filter to the end of that pipe (ive done that) the filter is in the engine bay. if you attach the 2nd pipe then the filter goes down right behind the fog lamp as a proper cold air intake. since the monsoon is coming up soon i have only used the first pipe and later in the year i will convert it to a full cold air intake.

difference after installation - the first few minutes i was on small roads so didnt get to rev the engine or give any throttle. there was no more sound than usual. then i got an open road and opened up the throttle. man it sounds like an american muscle car. at more than quarter throttle its got a growl and at full throttle the sound needs to be heard, i cant describe it. maybe a video soon. also there is definitely a difference in power. the car is even faster now. earlier it was fast, but now when im on full throttle in 1st and 2nd gear its acceleration is waay faster. the car was fighting for grip even with the 225 advans and the traction control light blinking. 120 was there before i knew it.

p.s - does anyone wanna do a photoshoot with my car? GTO? haha

here are 2 pics-

thanks buddy. well the drive with normal throttle is about the same. cant make out any difference in lower end torque since its an automatic and already has a reasonable amount (28xnm) as stock. but press the accelerator even halfway and the growl is great. at the redline it screams.

i have a small video i took. but its not too loud. if you guys want me to upload it let me know.

Finally got the time to catch up with your thread Akshay. I was planning on some performance mods on the 5 as well, such as an air intake, exhaust, wheels. Dammit, everytime I think of doing something, you get there before me!

Anyways, please give your input on my latest thread regarding mods: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...-bmw-525i.html

i think the next bolt on should be some strut braces. She corners like a boat. Heavy understeer + lacks that planted feel because of the comfort oriented suspension. But you must be feeling a lot better with the wider tyres.
