Sorry guys, I was under the assumption that when the base variant has it, the top variant will definitely have it. Thanks for the info.

re: Fiat Palio 1.6 - 5.5 years and 100,000 kms

I have a palio 1.6 sport, with 60 K done, the car is not stable at high speeds, starts to vibrate at 100KM.

Can I know what could be the reason for this?

Do a wheel balancing & alignment first. If still the car vibrates, then check the mountings.

So, you are the one who is shaking the whole PUG and others from the past 2 days or so.

- Check Balancing, alignment. After that, you will be able to come to a conclusion.
Also, when was the vehicle last serviced? How old is the Engine oil. I know these are not the actual factors which could cause this problem, but wanted to understand how abused your vehicle is.

And forgot to tell you. Take it to a service station and get the vehicle checked. You cant look for a resolution over internet.

You can have the shake due to multiple reasons:
1. Brake discs are warped
2. Wheels on the car are not 98 PCD
3. Bad alignment/balancing
4. Tie/track rods worn
5. Tyres are unevenly worn

re: Fiat Palio 1.6 - 5.5 years and 100,000 kms

To give an update on my car, its completed 97000 KMS now. No complaints with it nor any problems. Its running smooth as ever.

Since the big 1-0 is coming up, visited Pavan Kadam's garage and got him to have a dekko at it. Getting the next service done through his garage.

Following are the jobs currently planned:
1. Timing belt replacement
2. The engine has had a shaky idle since the last time the timing belts were changed so the timing is probably off. this needs adjustment.
3. Oil change
4. The A/C in the car quit working a few months back. This is due to there being no gas in the system. it all leaked out on fine evening from a spot below the radiator. not sure what failed here? have a few pics attached below. if anyone has a clue please do provide guidance.
5. Brake pads to be changed
6. Spark plugs to be changed
7. Fuel filter replacement

I have already ordered the required parts from 99RPM and am awaiting delivery.

Anyone have any clues about where that A/C gas leak came from? i haven't had time to get to a mechanic and get this checked and the fluid formation isn't there either so i'm at a loss!

re: Fiat Palio 1.6 - 5.5 years and 100,000 kms

Well, i got the A/C fixed. the pipe connecting from the 'Receiver Drier to condenser' as shown in the above picture was cut. had to get this replaced and gas re-filled.
Total cost was 3200 Rs. out of which 1750 was for the pipe itself.

re: Fiat Palio 1.6 - 5.5 years and 100,000 kms

Well folks, the car is now at 99900 kms. Went to Pavan's garage (Bugstop) this past weekend and got the spark plugs, brake discs, brake pads and calliper pins replaced. A timing belt change is also on the cards soon and i had ordered one, but it was used on a friends car so i'm waiting for a new kit to arrive. Also going to order the other ancillary (power steering, a/c, alternator) belts for the car, as they have never been replaced since the car was bought.

re: Fiat Palio 1.6 - 5.5 years and 100,000 kms

Car is at 100300 KMs now. Havnt used it much over the past month or so as i was using the S10. Got down to some TLC for the car this past weekend.

Started with a water wash down and then went around with tar and bug cleaner. Once that was done gave it a soap wash. Post this, rubbed down with some rubbing compound to try and mask some swirls on the surface and finished it with a layer of wax.

The interiors were also quite dirty so cleaned it out completely with a toothbrush.

Broke my back and killed my arms doing all this but the car gleams like new now. Worth the effort. A few mobile snaps below:

re: Fiat Palio 1.6 - 5.5 years and 100,000 kms

Another quick update on the car. Visited Pavan's garage and got the 1L service done.
Changed all the belts in the car, timing, a/c, alternator, power steering. The timing was off so got that corrected as well. Flushed out and refilled 4L of Shell Helix Ultra. Replaced the Fuel and oil filter as well. Everything is smooth as new now and the engine no longer has the shaky idle. Its quieter too.

There is a leak in the coolant system from the radiator hoses in the engine bay. 3 of the clamps around the hoses need to be replaced. Did have quite a scare the day before when the temp needle went all the way to the top. Found that there was no coolant in the system at all. Currently, topped it up and waiting to replace the clamps. Should be done this weekend at most.

Hope you got the car connected to a computer and got the DTCs cleared. There will be one for overheating; car will run better after clearing it.

I have the OBD stuff but its not detecting the connection to the ECU for some reason. i have to fix that before i clear the error codes.

on a related note, the car went into limp mode today. had no power and a lot of misfiring from the car. it cleared out itself after i left the engine running for a few minutes. checked everything but could not find what was wrong. we did leave the battery unplugged for 5 minutes post this to clear anything that the ECU might be holding on to.
