Today I faced a strange problem. I was at a speed of around 70 Km/hr when I braked suddenly as a car was coming from the opposite direction. As soon as I braked, the car vibrated violently. Then again I braked after this incident but then the car did not vibrated. What could be the reason.

Today I was just going through the car manual when I noticed something strange. I got the delivery of my car on October 2009. When I saw the manual it was written that the car had been repaired and the month was July 2009. It had its first servicing done on November 2009. It is strange as they told us that the car will be booked and had to be ordered. I am putting a picture here. Please help.

Check if the manual is for your car. The engine & chassis numbers will be entered on one of the early pages. Hopefully you hvae got some one else's manual.

Thanks condor. This was the first thing I checked. The engine number and chassis number are same as written in the manual. That is why I am finding it strange.

Certainly something amiss here! Kindly ask an explanation for it from the dealer. Did you try decoding the VIN of your Grande? That should give more info.

But, if they were carrying repairs due to damages caused by them, why would they be foolish enough to record it in the manual?

Hey!
Ask about the VIN in the VIN thread to wildon. You may get a quicker response there.

That looks like the PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) was done in advance, in July '09.

Repair Order No. is probably the generic term they use for tracking.

Going by this post: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/725816-post13.html
from this thread: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...dian-cars.html

it appears your car was made in Jan 2009.

That's quite a while before you got delivery (in Oct) - were you aware of this?

But like Driver said, if their intention was to cheat, why would they document the repair?

@aman9393 Thanks for that. I have posted there. Lets see what information I get.

@anekho We were told that a new car will be booked for us. We were not aware of that the car was manufactured in January.

hmm... sounds strange!

Wait for the 'vin-god' Wildon's answer on the other thread to see if I deciphered the code correctly.

Look at the Date column and the signature column which is written in black ink. its quite dark.

Also look at the letter 7 and 9 written in PDI date column and in odometer reading column/repair order no column. its different .This paper is doctored

@Wildon Your observations are absolutely correct. But I cannot understand what you are trying to say that the page have been doctored.

@Wildon, good observation there. But that only shows that the details were completed by two different people. Not much to go on beyond that. It is possible that the book was handed over to some one else to add the odo reading, after putting the seal & date.

@HappyRoadie, while you follow up on this, suggest that you dont go beyond what it is worth. You already have the vehicle as the first owner, and unless there is something seriously wrong with the vehicle, pls drop this issue as soon as it is appropriate to do so.

It is highly unlikely two person will fill the details of PDI on a same date.

I'm only talking about the manufacturing Month/Year aspect nothing else. As the dealer informed the customer that they had to order, but the vehicle was with them at least from July 2009, that may be the reason they have only given two colors to choose from.
