re: Suzuki Baleno it is! EDIT : Now beyond 163,000 km!

I have heard of NTN/NBK, but NMK is new, to me atleast. Suggest you do a second check including at the local MSM, a big gap it is between 3750 & 500.

re: Suzuki Baleno it is! EDIT : Now beyond 163,000 km!

The original clutch was changed on 27 Jan 2015 with the odometer reading 128640 kms. The change was done at the bosh workshop at Gurgaon. MASS quoted 12000 while the bosh guys did it for about 9000 inr.

Refer the NCR directory, it s a treasure trove of information. One only has to explore the forum extensively.

re: Suzuki Baleno it is! EDIT : Now beyond 163,000 km!

The car is going smooth and had the treads changed to Michellin XM2+ @ 4750 each 185/65/14 at an odo reading of 1,52,000 kms. rest all is well though the leakage in the steering rack is still not got corrected and needs to be regularly topped with the steering fluid. About 100 ml is used every 5000 kms or so.

Edit: Mods to please edit the title to now beyond 1.5 K kms.

The steering leak was addressed at BOSH service centre in Gurgaon but now the khat khat sound from the steering has become more pronounced plus it has become hard as well. What could be the reason? The odo about a fortnight back.

Steering tight : One reason could be over tightening of rack play adjustment nut at the back side of rack assembly. This is usually done my mechanics whenever steering noise is reported. Other reason could be blocked piping, I came across a similar case in Ikon where the metal tubes were bent when removing the steering gear and after changing the pipe steering effort reduced drastically.

I was not aware that NMK make is MGP. I recently changed the wheel bearing, the original Made in Japan to NMK.
By the way, it is performing good. Will have to wait and see

Re: Suzuki Baleno it is! EDIT : Now beyond 163,000 km!

The Baleno is now at 2,35,000 KMs and still going strong. Has accumulated a few dents and nicks on the exterior so debating if its worth giving her a respray at this stage.

My 15.5 years old & 1.1lakh kms run Baleno still has the original clutch and no sign of needing a replacement anytime soon. Helps that no one else drives it but me.

The highest ODO of a Baleno that I so far knew of was of mine only - 1.7L kms. Glad to see there is someone way ahead.

re: Suzuki Baleno it is! EDIT : Now beyond 275,000 km!

The current reading in the Baleno stands at 277,143 Kms. Planning to give the old girl a thorough overhaul soon to bring it up to the mark. A few glitches, aesthetic ones, need to be sorted out.
