re: Maruti Ritz DDiS Ownership Log : Sold after 90,000 kms

Hi Shk,

What is the kind of mileage you get on your RITZ in the city? and with how much traffic.

I'm myself thinking of buying a RITZ (maybe first choice would have been Swift but for the waiting period).

Thanks
Sid

I have Ritz VDI(ABS) run 38K Kms. I get around 18Kms/L with 75% highway & rest city runs.
Mileage may be less as I am using 195 profile tyres.
It is good alternative to Swift unless you are planning for ZDI model of swift.

I am also getting pretty much 18. city + highway. In pure highway runs, the mileage is much higher than 18. I am however running on stock tires.

I get around 14-15 in heavy blore traffic , and now a days have started coming early to ofc and leaving early also to beat the traffic and the mileage looks like has really improved last tank full got me around 16.5 + and the present tank full has already crossed 620 km and 2 bars and still showing, so i guess it will run for another 100 kms , so i guess that will come aroun 18+ kmpl.

How is the ride quality with the 195 section tyres?
Whats the tyre size you running on your Ritz 195/60/15 or 195/65/14
These 195 section tyres, do they touch the body on full wheel lock .

Post some pictures of you ride, as im also thinking about putting 195 section tyres.

Cheers.

I found one Ritz with the same color which is modded. See pic.
Hi Naveen, I find the front grill in the pic amazing. I am really interested to get the same thing for my Ritz. Can you let me know where you purchased it and the cost of the same?.

Thanks.

That is not naveen's car. Albeit a pic taken from a source. that would be a single mesh which any mechanic can create by modifying an existing grill. Would suggest you to buy a spare grill to play around and keep the original safe.

The lower part definitely requires cutting of bumper. :(

As govigov had mentioned, this is not my car but I got my grills for my Swift from them. I got mine for 1.2k. This includes the upper and lower grills, painting and installation.

Thanks for the response Naveen. Did it take long to get installed?. Some more questions I had was a) where was this done?, 2) when you said painting and installation, I am assuming that it was not something like a stock replacement, is that right?

Thanks...Saji

Didnt take much time. Maybe half a day as I left the car there and went to office. This was done at Overdrive near Holiday Inn (Vytilla - Palarivattom Bypass). This want something like stock replacement. The stock grills were cut and the mesh was fixed. This is really a DIY job but I didnt have the time to do it. Also, this came out really well.

Boy, then how did you manage that??

Sorry for the late reply,Dhanush.15.5k may be for set of 5 wheels. We bought a set of 4 wheels.

35,000 kilometres of Smile

Ritzy completed 35k kms last week. The car is going strong.
The positives and negatives of the car
+One of the best diesel engines in the world:Great performance, superior mileage
+Interiors:Great and sinister looking spedo ,dimpled surfaced dashboard,Pop-out tacho and many cubbyholes.
+Styling:Not a Punto or Polo but distinctive by itself.
+Ride:Soft and supple ride for the bumpy Calicut
+Ground Clearance:No tension at big potholes and high Humps.
-Space inside the Cabin:Better than Swift but not a Liva rivaller.
-Plastics inside cabin:Cheap plastics on the lower part of Dashboard and on the Door pads.
-Rear Visibility:Thick pillars and small window makes the reversing a chore.
-Ill shaped small boot
-Equipment Levels:Similarly priced Figo ZXI has got music player,Defogger,Remote Locking etc.

The car has a few dents and scratches ;courtesy my mom is using the car.She is a novice driver. The car is now at service centre .Will do the painting from there.Any idea how much will the 35k kms service costs?
Will do a photoshoot afterwards.

re: Maruti Ritz DDiS Ownership Log : Sold after 90,000 kms

I went for my 1st service at one of the reputed dealership in delhi and he asked me to opt for the synthetic oil instead of normal oil. The price difference was just 700. The SA informed me that synthetic oil will last 10000 kms. But Just a few days back i checked the oil, it had already become black. have driven just 2000 kms after 1st service. I doubt if it will last another 9000 kms.

re: Maruti Ritz DDiS Ownership Log : Sold after 90,000 kms

i had visited their outlet as per your guidelines in cochin. But i couldnt find the alloys of my choice there. I might be visiting calicut on 17th Dec. In which case i'd like to check out the alloys from the shop where you had installed it. Care to share the details please?

@shrinivaashmn: it is quite encouraging to see the service doesn't cost much. Only the 20k service is costly.
@shk sorry for being out of the Forum for long. was stuck with family issues. Mine finished first year and going strong at 17k on the odo.
It is great hatch back overall.
Will be updating my thread soon.
Meanwhile any good suggestions for Alloys?
