tapan, mine is just two month old and till date i havent faced any issue with the suspension. secondly, crde's also share the same suspension as the non crde ones.

btw, what kind issues are you talking about.

couple of ergonomic issues that i forgot to mention in my report.

1. wiper control is too close to the steering wheel, so there are chances to turn on the wiper unintentionally. i dint realise it when i saw my wife turning the wiper on... eventually i have also done it couple of times. henceforth, i need to be conscious about it.

2. rear view mirror cannot be adjusted from inside... i guess this feature is availble in almost every other car.. its not fair to be left out in a so called luxury car like scorpio.

ps: mods coule you please change the title of the thread to 5500km report.

Nice report on the Crde. What happend to the new upgraded version of the Scorpio that was supposed to come out. Did anyone see the new one in the Autoshow.

M&M needs to improve the build quality and finish. I still think the Scorpio is the best SUV for our wonderful roads. Did they solve the handling problem above 90KM, heard and drove a friends scorpio that behaves like a boat above 90km.

agree: I was pleased to see Scorpio crde getting good initial reviews.
I just finished 5000 kms and my vehicle is returning 11.6 Km on Highways and 10.5 in City conditions (only Turbojet and not over 110 km/h).
I have not had a single issue so far-no rattling noises also.I notice that the engine has settled down to a nice rhythym.
Only thing which perplexes me is a note that TDI engine should run idle(30 secs) after start and when to be turned off.I have not been doing this regularly atleast. Is it going to spoil the TDI?Is there any eqpt to test the efficiency or malfunction of the same?
I get to know so much from you folks.
Thnx.

Tifosi, i've found a car-care guy who does underbody treatment and door-panels so as to prevent rust for a long time. Not expensive too. For our Chennai condition, u know how rusting is, ;)

Good to hear it from another owner. after the first service, mileage has improved a bit. it gave just over 10 for a litre. i have topped up turbojet for the first time. shall let you know if there is any improvement.

regarding turning on and off, i always wait for a minute before i turn on and off. i am very particular about the cold start, first time in the morning, i let the engine to run in idle for 5 minutes.

its a good practice to allow the engine to settle down before turning off, however if the engine is already running in lower rpms (read running at slow speeds), then you may not wait.

why dont you post a short review of your ownership. BTW, where did you give the vehicle for service and how much did they charge???

ps: mods could you please change the title to 5.5k report.

I got the vehicle serviced at Mpl Motors.I am happy that they have a Good Servive Advisor -VENKAT.I have known him from my Bolero Days. The bill was approx 1.4k for all the oil changes etc.

Title has been changed. If you ever want a mods attention on something, please use the "report this post to a moderator link". In the default style, it is the "caution" marked button below every users id.

guys, its exactly three months since i wrote the 5k report and now i am ready with the 10k report.

this report is going to be a short one...

in the past three months did a couple of long trips, one to tanjore via pondicherry with eight on board and another one to jolarpet a week back. otherwise its normal city driving.

odo meter reading 10500kms

mileage 9.5 to 10.5 kmpl

diet tried shell, reliance et al, but no big difference, going to stick to BPCL, as the station is near to my home.

complaints

Gear shift - very hard especially while changing from 1st to second - problem rectified.

strange noise from steering wheel, when the vehicle goes over a uneven surface - problem rectified- changed steering column internal shaft & rubber coupling-free of cost (under warranty), cost of spare Rs.2800

Changed vaccum modulator - cost of spare Rs.5500/-

Squeaks from leaf spring - not rectified

Wobbling at higher speeds - partly attributed to steering wheel problem- problem rectified - wheel rotation and alignment done.

Total Service bill Rs.298.

Workshop manager (who happens to be a close friend of my friend), has strongly suggested me go in for extended warranty. After discovering the cost of spares that has been replaced during this service, guess its a very sane thing to do.

Would be going in for the extended warranty (Rs.10000/-) soon.

Grouses :
AC ineffective for the last row...
Mileage, i expected a little bit more...

Overall experience : i am pretty much happy with the car and it has amply fulfilled my expectation.

Would i buy the same car again??? Yes definitely, but would love to own the all new scorpio...;)

My car went for 3rd free service a couple of weeks back. It was a routine one with no major complaints. Infact engine has opened up very well and driving experience is getting better by the day.

Bill amount Rs.349.

For the consumables and wheel balancing.

Tifosil,

thats a good review..

I have noticed the mileage drops with Shell diesel in my scorpio..

I would never get my wheels aligned and balanced during service , as I have seen them rush through the job because of huge volumes..( india garage, bangalore )

I prefer to go to a specialist tyre shop and get the alignment done to perfection after service / or when due...

ofcourse..these are my personal opinions and you might have had a better experience with service centres..

Even i prefer to a specialist tyre shop and get it done under my supervision, but in this case i had a impending travel to thekkady a couple of days after the service, hence had no time.

w12, i find that there is no significant improvement in mileage between a normal city and a highway drive???? i normally do around 100 to 110 kmph.
What is your experience.
