The key to i-VTEC

Nice pictures Blue Volt, I usually clean the key surfaces using a tooth brush to remove the dirt and grime sticking on the grooves. It is quite effective, you can try this too.
Regarding the bumper scratch, since it is quite large, you can try rubbing and polishing using machine by professional detailer.
This may reduce the ugliness of the scratch. In case the bumper gets damaged again, you can consider replacing it with new painting.

Let me first try my own hands on the bumper. I will see a professional detailer if results are not satisfactory.

Bluevolt,
Does Honda City come with mats for the boot? My car just has one wafer thin grey fabric mat in the boot (this sits on top of the MDF board covering the spare tyre), is this the standard setup?

I thought I remembered reading that there is an additional fabric mat on top of that.

Tx,
Bharat

Yep, that is the standard setup across ANHC.

Mats are generally given free by the dealer; so whether the boot has one too depends on the dealer.

Yes bharat, I just confirmed that my car also came with same setup. I guess the dealer has skipped the mats for the boot.

attaching pics for reference.

PS - I must say the boot is huge!

Guys it’s time for the insurance renewal. Several agents/companies are calling and asking to get the insurance done from them.

I am interested to get the insurance renewed from the showroom guys for peace of mind. My current insurance provider is Bajaj Allianz (zero depreciation).

Please guide me what to do?

You always get a better deal if you shop around, outside. No harm in that.

But, while doing so, please make sure that you pay through cheque, and make sure you get the Policy Document at the earliest.

Check this - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...olicy-yet.html

Is the present policy issued by the dealer while buying the car?
Please get the quotes from everyone who is calling you so that you have it black and white on what you are offered.
This includes any offers as well.
In the same way ask the dealer/showroom also to give you a proposal.
Then study all of them and compare based on your needs.
Please carefully check the IDV quoted along with the Ex-showroom price of the present new car.
I have posted my experience in renewing the policy in my thread.
If you need any further information, please ask.

I have not heard or seen any dealer providing boot mat for the car.
It may be available in the aftermarket, but haven't seen one yet.

re: It's Me and My Honda City i-VTEC - It's Us Against the World! EDIT: Sold!

Today the underbelly of my car was badly hit by a speed breaker in Sonipat (Haryana).

Actually I went to meet my relatives this morning and we parked our car in their school. Now they have made a big speed-breaker (bigger than the normal ones) before their school's entrance which is a little steep. Now that's a deadly combination for a low slung car. My car was stuck over the speed-breaker and didn't move. The workers at the school placed some bricks behind the tyres so that the GC raises and the car could clear the breaker. We were able to clear the speed breaker but there was quite a bit of noise from underside during the process.

Though the car is running perfectly fine and we didn't observed anything unusual while en route back to Delhi but I still guess there must be some underside damage to some protection plates etc (the middle portion was stuck).

I am little worried and will take the car to Service station tomorrow and inspect the damage.

Sad day for Venus .

Hope everything turns out to be ok but i agree that Best that you do take it to the service center , to have a car hang on a speed breaker can result in serious damage - wish they would put a little thought while making them. Same story in Defence colony , they suddenly overnight deployed speed breakers at various locations - short steep ones , no chance of a car getting stuck there but the first day saw many cars flying off them.

re: It's Me and My Honda City i-VTEC - It's Us Against the World! EDIT: Sold!

I just came back from the SVC. Thankfully everything was fine except for a bent silencer plate which was making sound.

I also got the car serviced (though it was not due) for peace of mind. Total bill -1250 INR including engine oil change. The SVC people also touched up the scratches on the bumper.

Will give 9/10 to Ring Road Honda, Delhi.
