After a drive in heavy rain this afternoon, my dad forgot to turn off the parking lights and I noticed that now only i.e. the lights were on for over 6 hours. I tried starting the car but it is refusing to start and starter is hardly engaging. So that means battery got completely discharged.

What should I do now? Call Honda Road Side Assistance in the morning or any local battery guy to jump start the car?

My car is just over two years old and I hope Honda Road Side Assistance will not charge me for this job as my car is at home only.

Should I make another attempt to start the Venus tomorrow morning before calling RSA? I hope that will not damage the starter?

I suggest give it a try in the morning. It happened with me couple of times and battery got some charge back after 2-3 hours on its own. A good quality non honda service centre typically charges Rs 200 for providing jump start service in Delhi

I think you should get the battery charged up.My 800's battery had died due to bad alternator.I simply got it recharged.You could then take the car to HASS for a check up.

Do you have extended warranty (2+2 Years) with Honda Road Side Assistance?
In that case you may call RSA.
Otherwise wait until morning and try starting again.
If the car does not start, ask for jump starting with someone known to you living nearby.
Otherwise call the local battery guy to jump start and get the battery charged either by normal running of the car or by bench charger at the battery shop.
How old is the battery and what make is it?
May be it is time to change, keep a watch on this.

Venus managed to start on its own this morning after a sluggish crank. I kept the engine on for around 5 minutes. No need to call RSA as of now. Will do same in evening to maintain some charge for Monday morning office drive.

It is stock Amaron battery just over two years old.

i would suggest you get the battery bench charged immediately as starting without a fully charged battery will put heavy load on starter motor and you will spend much more to rep[alced it.charging by running the car is not suffecient. a bench charge will not cost you more than 50 to 100 rs .better be safe now than sorry later

Precisely. Irrespective of Amaron/Exide they should last for 36 months in most cases. The life of the battery though would be directly proportional to the number of cranks in most cases of regular usage.

Dear Mate, I too have 2011 MT Honda City, I too thought of upgrading car's tyre until i met a owner of 2009 SMT honda city who upgraded his car's wheels & alloys and was facing issues like dragging, high fuel consumption. I believe OEM wheels are best suited for any car.

The headlamp cluster on the right side of my 2012 City S-MT has seen multiple cases of water deposits (usually at the corners) after servicing at the dealer (Pride Honda, Hyd). This was the case for the last one year, however, in the most recent instance in July, water drops covered the entire head light and the attached indicator shells. In the earlier cases water droplets vanished in a few days. Now, after getting it checked at the dealer, found out there was a crack due impact on the headlamp (even though there was no accident). So no chance of replacement under extended warranty, while the spare costs 5.5k. The service advisor tells me he's tried to seal the crack and it may greatly minimize future seepage. Its been three months now and the corners of the lamps still have several drops. Will this compromise the safety of the car? How can I get rid of the water? Appreciate your responses.

Try to blow hot air from a hair dryer, I dont know it may work.

Eventually, the reflective surface of the headlight might start getting corroded.

When SAs say they have temporarily fixed it, it generally means that they didn't do anything. They want you to replace the assembly!

It might be a good idea to visit a FNG; they might have a fix for that. Esp. the guys who clean headlight assemblies.

Noticed this rusting around the washer nozzle today while giving the car for service. Right now I am at svc only and they are saying that this could have caused due to use of hard water in washer tank or accumulation of water near the nozzle. The other nozzle is perfectly ok. No leakage also as told by them, they have refitted the nozzle/pipe.

I am wondering how it happened. I am using tap water in my six year old wagonr but not faced this kind of rusting at all.

How to control this from further damage?
