Yep, it sounds only when the key is still inserted and you open the driver door.

Hey Bluevolt, my bad.
Din't get your initial post clearly and I thought you are not getting any alarm whatsoever.
I checked again and found out that your car is perfectly alright.
If you keep lights on and remove key there is no alarm until you open driver side door.

Has anybody faced the issue of crome coating from Honda logo on steering peeling off?
Mine is completely peeled off and looking off white now.
Was thinking of getting a Red mugen logo for steering from T-Bhp classifieds.
Cost 500 rs.

Congratulations breezydrive for your Honda City; Will love to see your ownership report or at least some pictures of your car.

Strange, haven’t faced peeling issue with any chrome part be it steering or outside logo. How old is your car?

You can report this issue to Honda people (complain about poor quality) and may be they can replace it for free.

PS - Did you applied anything (like dashboard polish etc) on steering wheel?

My car is July 2009 make.
It has happened recently in last 2-3 months. I did not apply anything on steering. Outer logos are intact with no issues. I guess its the cars more than 2 year old have this issue.
I checked on net a found out that steering logo peeling off is a common issue on 2-3 years old CRV's
Similarly, one of Civic forum also reported this issue.
Please visit the link for Accord steering issues.

What do you think about this?

P.S. Mods I am not sure if I am allowed to post links. Please pardon my ignorance.

This is a common issue among hondas. I have seen so many Civics suffering from this. The Honda emblem starts peeling off and it looks really bad with a mix of off-white and chrome.

Relax and get one of those cool red Honda logos. If the quality is nice, these logos look pretty good. I have one for my Civic as well but haven't applied yet. I didn't know you could buy these logos from TBHP classifieds! Cool.

Will Honda cover this chrome peeling in warranty? I guess this is the case of poor quality?

Let's see how long the chrome lasts in my car.

I doubt if Honda will cover this thing under warranty. IMO it is not poor quality but a thing of regular wear and tear. Many people keep their hands in the steering centre while driving and it could be one of the reasons why the chrome comes off after 30-40,000 kms of driving.

50,000 clicks on my car and yet, the emblem shine like ever before!

I don't think Honda is going to cover it in warranty. Plus, I have already ordered mugen logo for steering. Already on its way.
