Heartfelt condolences. I know the feeling exactly...about the other chap on the road and his/her chalta attitude !

About the scratches on the winshield - you could check with the local 'Windshield Experts' there - they have a way of removing the same.

Does any one have any idea how can I remove these scratches! They are about 1 mm thick and about 2-3 inches long.
Felt bad to hear about the incident. Very irritating for sure, can really spoil the mood for days, these unjustified scratches. Good to know that most of it has been taken care of by some hard manual labor.

For the scratches on glass, you might try glass/ windshield polish. I know it can be done at Honda Service Station. Maybe possible elsewhere also.

Thanks for the tip! I will get in contact with WS Experts next time I am in Delhi or with Honda when I am in Karnal! Will let you guys know about the outcome.

From where did you source the side step garnish ? Is it with the lights ?
In Bangalore the price quoted is almost double for the same.
Can you please put some pics of the same if you have any ?

Procured it through Driven, New Delhi! It is not OEM one but an imported one!

Yep, it has lights on all four doors! Earlier, I was a bit apprehensive about the LED quality but they seem to hold on for good and look so nice and welcoming at night!

Here you go...

Front door during day time -
My Grey Shark: Honda Civic V-MT. 142,500 kms crunched. EDIT: Sold!-1.jpg

At night -

Rear door garnish is exactly the same, albeit a bit short in length!

Correct, the lights glow only when the doors are opened! The sensors are placed along with door beading (there is a inbuilt place to connect such sensors)! The power is connected to the wire connections running along side of the doors.

Hey, nice bling.

I was detered by @rr_zen's experiences on these garnish panels. So will keep a watch out for your take on their long term durability.

You know what this may just be the nicest looking car on T-BHP. That night time photo of the garnish was awesome. And here I was thinking garnish is something you add to Maggi noodles!

Seeing your TCO figures and having experienced a pre-owned Civic (dot's) first-hand, wondering if I did the right thing opting for a new Vento.

Naaah!

Hey noops,
1. Please clarify - does "car" include or exclude SUVs ?

2. Or you could say when you purchased the Vento...you had no Civic sense !

IIRC, rr_zen has the OE garnish from Honda! That should be much more durable than mine! Never the less, I was getting without LED ones for 1400-1500 and this one for 2,200; so decided to pay once for a piece that looks good at night too! (To be honest, now I am too, spolit by the compliments by quite a few gals who were impressed by this bling, during those late night drives! )

haha... thanks noopster. You see, a new car is always a new car, right? Experiencing the virginity has its own charm, rather than redlining (read: hitting on her hard) the same day you get your hands on her!

OT - sorry about our previous posts being edited by Technocrat. I echo your sentiments for that matter! That video is from my raceboy years and the car in question was my uncle's Civic.

I said it in my reply to you that day, and I am saying it again!

Those who underestimate the power of their vehicles, OR overestimate their ability to control it; usually end up in an accident!

Thanks once again for your concern!

Pinched a little hard Guderian, did he?!? Please be nice... lol.

Let me put it this way, your Togo H is a handsome brute; noop's Vento is a graceful girl and my Shark is a sexy lady!

I'm back to office after getting the Door Step garnish panels fitted for all 4 door steps.
They look super cool dude.
Saw it in Basement parking, which is kind of dark, they look way too cool on a Bluish Silver car.
I agree on the pricing part, it same in Bangalore too.
I got the ones with LED's and blue colour (looks as same as that of rr_zen), but has illumination on all 4.
Price I paid is 2100Rs including fitting.
@Ace, I spoke with Rana(New Delhi), he quoted me 2500Rs, So i thought let me try sourcing here itself. Here it's easily available, but some quote a cool 1000rs more for the same, I scouted for almost 5-6 shops & the guy where I got these panels fitted quoted the least. So fitted from his shop only.

Very happy with this GADGET
