Is not turning out to be a good year for the front right wings, doors, and ORVMs on the cars.
First the Tooky with the extortionist, and now the fiesta. This tiny lady, in a HUGE safari reversed into the door. Luckily the invented-for-morons bullbar didn't hit the car, only the spare wheel cover did.
Resulted in a slightly misshapen door and wing, and the ORVM just broke off. Got her to reimburse in cash on the spot.
I just hope the whole thing will not have to be repainted, because I went a bit custom in the last repaint, asking the painter for extra flakes.
The tooky is in for fixing the damage from the january incident, and I'll be taking the fiesta in when I pick her up.

Ouch, that hurts! Good that you got her to pay up on the spot.

I hope you get your car back to its glory soon. Though the damage looks minimal, i'm not sure if denting will affect the paint.

So, the old girl got a full facelift, nip and tuck, etc.
New headlights, a full polish and wax. And she looks lovely! Almost makes me want to reconsider my decision to give her up. But I unfortunately will have to....... More's the shame.

Sad to know that you're parting with her. Hope you get something better, though I firmly believe that would be difficult!

How much did the new headlights cost?

They came to 8200 rupees, with all bulbs and leveling motors included.

I wanted to know how much you paid for your timing belt change a couple of years ago. Did you also change the pulleys, water pump and drive belt with it? I'm asking because I am planning to do the same on mine.

Hmm. I really dont recall how much, but all of it has been changed, belts, tensioner, water pump etc. My rates may not be of relevance since all teh work is carried out outside. Approximately 10k, with labor.

After getting some ridiculous offers and visits, I am now in two minds about letting the car go. Frankly, people who are offering those amounts, even if I sell to them, I know they don't appreciate a fiesta as what it is. That would be more painful than a low price, frankly.

Unless parking space is a constraint, I suggest you retain the car. You can always take it out for weekend drives just to hear the Duratec snarl!

With heavy heart and a million memories, I let go of the girl today. Apart from the parking, disuse was taking a toll on her. There was even a spot of rust near the windscreen. Did not get the price I was expecting, but unfortunately, this was a decision that had to be made with the head rather than the heart this time around. Hope she spreads some more smiles for someone.
