Nanolover - Awesome stuff mann!! and the way the speakers are fitted- Genuis!

I really liked the hand stitiched seats, so does it mean they stripped the original fabric off , or did they put this over the original one?

And must say Black looks classy and mean!
Im still in a fix about the colour ( for interiors ) which will suit the best for my champenge gold car.

This is a question for all those who have a NANO LX

1) As per online brochure, the front windscreen is tinted, have you noted anything like that?

2) Also there is no Blue band at the top of front windscreen, check out radha vijay's nano, it clearly has one.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

Hi condor,

the blue band on top of windshield for nano has been deleted from Oct 10 models onwards. In fact one of the key reasons i moved for the LX was for this tinted windshiled. They have quetly deleted it and have not updated it in their brochures.

P.S- they have started removing this tint from all their models, new vista, manza etc dont have this...blatant cost cutting... i dont know who is in charge there of the accounts department

we were looking for a manza aqua..and this tint has been removed, music system has been deleted, basic model a/c is no longer electric servo controlled and they have the guts to say they want to increase prices !!!

I somehow feel Tata is loosing the VFM plot somehere now and blatantly deleting tiny feel good factors.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

Hey Nanolover

That aquamarine blue tint looks classy!, i will try to fit one aftermarket at the top.

Initially i thought my car was fitted with the wrong screen, but after going through threads here, i have now understood that it been discontinued.

Also there is a lot of room to have a bottle holder just ahead of the front left side door, atleast there could have been a net which could hold a 1 ltr bottle.

I hope any new variant comes up with the below
1) Left RVM
2) Dash storage which is lockable
3) Slightly wider front tyre, may b 145 r 12 with a higher profile for better ride.

And hopefully we should be able to integrate that to our cars.

Silverado, sorry for the late reply. Yes the car is with us at Dehradun. I have gone just a little bit up the hills in the Nano. the ride was peppy and manoeuvrability great. But we were just the two of us - me an my wife and no baggage. Also I have not got any accessories fitted till now. I plan to check out on my second service this month.Do let us know what you plan to do.

@Silverado,
put on the pics of those 3 nanomytes which you got. Those are cute ones. And also a pic of your ride with newly aquired team-bhp stickers.
Any updates of the arm rest which we were talking about?

For bottle holder you can get those fiber ones or if you seeking the netted one then you can consider similiar to one's that are available in AC train coaches.

About seat covers, dont go for the slip on types. Get the hand stitched one's similiar to Aryan's santro. Costed 4k from Mulund.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

Just curious to know what kind of long drives you guys have done with the Nano. Do you take Petrol cans (5 ltr or 10 ltr cans) as a precaution ? I know Sam and NC had done Mumbai to Delhi drive, I need to go back to that thread and read it with more interest now as I finished my TD last week and almost ready to get it in May 2011. There is no waiting right now, its delivery in 2 to 3 days.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

Hi Shaju

As and when i will do it, i will surely take a 5 ltr petrol can, which can actually be fuel tank of a scooter, and try to fit it somewhere upfront in the bonnet.

Nomadabhi - I went to check out the seat covers, and have decided to rather not put ones , untill may be moonsoons.

Bootle holder is a very very must.there is no space to keep bottles, if its a 1 ltr bottle.I would prefer using a concealed bottle holder, i mean bottle holder of the same material as my interior trim!

I will surely post pics with T bhp stickers soon.
Have completed 545 Kms till date only:( , FE is hovering around 15-16 within city - 90% AC.

Have been mighty impressed by dimensions while parking!
Also suspension is better than what i initially thought.

There are blind spots on the left side which can really hamper the way you park, a rear sensor kit is a must for Nano it seems.

Looking forward to fit a front glass sun film, which will surely help in making AC effective, without which the front dash gets hot.

Also will buy a front screen internal cover , which can help in keeping away heat and also avoid prying eyes when the car is parked.

Looking eagerly for sun blinds as well , as thanks to RTO norms the film is quite light.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

1st service done today - FORTUNE MOTORS - Near Marwah complex, SAKI NAKA.

Cost of service - 80 rs.

Things added

Front and Rear screen TINT - ECODRIVE - Rs 1500 taxes included with 3 yr warranty

3M anti- rust treatment - Rs 1260 + VAT - 5 year warranty
Ciggy lighter -Rs 500

This was my First expereince with T.A.S.S and it was Good.
Service advisor updated me on regular basis.
They also gave a driver to Drop the car home since i was not available to pick it up.

I have to drive it yet and check the difference.
I still need to get that BIG dent which i got below the rear left door fixed
I am told i need to keep the car with dealer for 5-6 days to get it fixed under warranty.

I refused to keep the car for so long

I will contact CONCORDE to check if thats the case and get a second opinion on that.

I want to fit a SUMP guard to be on safe side since i will be driving a lot soon, whicht eh dealer did not have.

Also pending is good seat covers and ICE which will come later.

The First Engine OIL change is @ 10,000 kms!!!! which is great!!!.
Also the company does not have the maintenence scheme that they had earlier which was to pay 4752 rs for 4 years for consumables.

Why?

We have also taken the same package and it seems to be a standard thingy. If your dealer is not providing you the same, please enquire with Tata Motors Customer Care.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

You will not beleive it, it was customer care who told me that there is no such scheme! and i also asked for escalation there and even the senior guy told me scheme has been stopped, shocker it was.

So i went to Concorde showroom to check out the same.
They admitted there was some communication issue with customer care and hence they were not aware.

Now the scheme has changed and you have to pay 3200 for 2 yrs/20000 kms.
But the sad part is even they are not clear how it works , and i need to check it online.

But that doesn't makes sense. Labour is anyways free upto the 3rd service i.e. 20k Kms. Actually even I'm not clear about the 4 Years / 20 k Kms maintenance program that I have brought as there is no documentation.

re: Tata Nano and life beyond. Update: 60k km and 12 years!

They say the additional scheme is for parts like brakes, clutch , engine oil etc and the original warranty is only on engine, ac and transmission components.

The people @ dealership are themselves ill informed , so no point in understanding unless its online officially.

Also its not present for any accident body parts.
I asked that specifically since i just banged by left side running board.

Anyways my car is with the dealer to get that sorted via insurance way.
Cost - 500rs only + i lose my no claim bonus ( approx 1100rs @ end of year ).
