![]() This may sound nuts, but if its going to be driven on poor roads and highways get a Prado, it will take abuse much better. If you need the brand, then I'd say the GL is a better pick over the Q7. Yes the Q7 with its DSG may feel better to drive, but the Q7 replacement is already out and if the brand matters then you wouldn't want to be seen in an old model 1 year down the line. Unless you get the 4.2tdi, in which case disregard everything I just said and buy it. The GL is supremely comfortable, but like you said massive. If you aren't going to use 7 seats get the ML350 and finish it off. It too is very comfortable and has the airmatic suspension and is definitely going to be easier to drive than a GL.

![]() I have driven the prado. Yes its reliability is unreachable ( my friend owns an earlier version boxy one done 5+lacs kms and going strong with no company support). However its not worth the price IMHO. Doesn't feel like the 90 lacs. I liked the landcruiser but its unearthly price of 1.45 cr kills it even before i look at it. Yes, my father wants a 7 seater only otherwise i would have bought the ML with my eyes closed.

![]() Have gone ahead and booked a GL 350 cdi. Now waiting period is about 2-3 months (as per company claims for white color). However I am still trying for an early delivery.

![]() Its about 89+ lac on road Delhi Thanks sir for your wishes. GL is more expensive than both Audi q7 and BMW x5. But its bigger than both. However that said as a 5 seater. X5 is very compelling except the ride quality. Last edited by Eddy : 6th April 2015 at 13:27. Reason: Merged

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are a few pics of the day this car was delivered. I am traveling now so no current photos. Yes. The car is great and I very much like it over and above the Q7. The ride is great in comfort mode. Plus I recently discovered that over very poor rutted roads, i just have to keep the car/ house on wheels (its huge) at speeds at around 20-30 kmph and all the bumps just disappear. Plus it rides much better if it has 5 ppl on board. Have done around 1500 kms till now as have been traveling. And its literally like a fast tank on highways (sports mode/stiffer ride). Thanks

![]() Oh my, Oh my! Looks so pretty... Excellent choice of colour, I must say. I really like the way the updated headlights look on this version. Do keep us BHPians updated about details and experience after the first service and onwards..

| ![]() Yes, similar model is sold in India. Its got motors for full powered front seats including powered headrests. Power adjustable steering, power folding last row seats, powered last row butterfly windows and a powered rear hatch door for both closing and opening. Yes, it does make my Fortuner look puny and makes it a chore to drive in comparison. The only thing I would have preferred were rear seat entertainment screens. The optional rear seat entertainment package screens were woefully small and looked poor. And the optional middle row powered folding feature that is available in US market. Manually double folding the middle row seats is not in sync with the rest of the car. The rest of the package is good and I do believe that Mercedes is better than the Audi.
