the 3yr 40k kms package is now 1.56L...even If i service it thrice and change brake pads/discs one it will not be beyond 1.5L. I don't see my car crossing more than 20k Kms in the next 3-4 years but I do intend to hold on to it for 6-7 yrs.

I have the full BMW secure already to cover engine or other issues.
Please let me know!!
I would recommend not to go for BSI. Extended warranty is a good idea and it's enough.

You won't be spending 1.56L on your car with that low running in three years. And extended warranty will save you from any major part replacement expenses.

Secure covers only accidental damage. Just get the extended warranty, available for a maximum of 6 years.

Thanks Bhp & Skyliner...planning to do just that!
Got the quotes..planning a 5 year warranty (its 126k)..6th year is suddenly 2L+

Another option is go for 4 years warranty (86k) which given me two more years and buy an add-on after 3.5 years based on my experience with the car.

Any views?

Personally, I think 5 years at 126k is a good deal.

When do you plan to sell the car? Selling it before expiry of warranty might fetch a better resale.

Thanks I got the 5 year today. I might sell it after 6-7 years but 5 years does buy some relaxation! thanks

Re: BMW 320d (F30) vs Audi A4

Can someone confirm the gearbox in the current A4 2.0 TDI. Is it the Multitronic (CVT) 8 speed or the S-Tronic (Dual Clutch) 7 speed?

CVT. Infinite ratios with 8 step manual mode. S tronic dual clutch comes in S4.

One of the pages in the brochure (page 14) talks of the S-tronic, so was confused. All the more because the Q3 now comes with S-tronic. How does the CVT compare with the Dual Clutch?

Manual might have pages that are common to different models. S tronic in Q3 must be due to AWD quattro. I don't think they equip AWD models with CVT.

CVT is smooth and seamless as there are no real gears changing providing a comfortable drive. S tronic for better performance as well as economy. Say, its more efficient.

Re: BMW 320d (F30) vs Audi A4

Hi folks, Please help me to decide between 2016 model of BMW 320D prestige or the Audi A4 premium sport (s-line) package. Both are being offered to me for 42 lakhs on road in bangalore. Now, BMW is the facelifted model with minor additions to its features but looks like Audi A4 still has more features in terms of sunroof, updated MMI, better music system, etc.? Please advice

Have you driven both the car's? Which one did you find better to drive if its going to be you who will be driving the car mainly, I would personally prefer the 2016 320D over the A4 just because i would enjoy driven the 320D a bit more. If features is your concern get the Audi.

The new A4 should be arriving in October. I would tell you to wait for it or just get the 320d. No point going for the current A4 model right now.

Front seat or back seat? If you are in the driver's seat the winner is the Bimmer hands down - the A4 drive is too disconnected and lacks any feel. On the other hand, if you are likely to be more in the back seat, the A4 offers a cushier ride.

Re: BMW 320d (F30) vs Audi A4

Thanks a lot for the advice car lover, tanveer, & kartavya! I drove the A4 premium variant and realized company gonna give only two variants from the new A4 expected end of this year. Both cars A4 and 320D are exciting to drive since A4 offers 177 bhp and 320D is 190 bhp.
My budget is fixed at 40 lakhs so there's no point waiting for the new a4 since it will be priced more than 50 lakh OTR in Bangalore. I wasnt happy with the alloys offered by audi, will they be able to help me with exchanges, etc? Also, are there any issues that the A4 has in the long run in terms of maintainence, etc.? Ive posted pics of the demo car. I actually wanted to the premium sport (s-line) but unfortunately it is out of stock.
