2004 S would be the facelifted S Class with clear-lens headlights. An S350 L to be precise. It cost around 60 lakhs when it was launched. 2 years on and a selling price of 50 seems too much. Try getting it down to 37-40 which would be a good price. Again check papers to see if its a clean car.

Also check what Mercedes used cars offer. Usually 10% more than market but you get a solid warranty.

Need I say, watch those electronics!

The good thing about Mercs is that you can drive it to their repair centre and they connect it upto their computers and you can get comprehensive details of the car. They might be able to give you the history of servicing/repairs of the car as well.. Recommend you do that before you buy it..

Seems a tad too expensive at 50. I would believe it to be fair at anything between 38-42 lakhs. Look for any options, in terms of alloy wheels, dvd players, the type of leather seats used, optional colour schemes, etc.

There is a 2004 Mecedes S350L for sale at Autohangar. I think you are talking about the same one. It is for 50L and i guess negotiable to 45 - 50 considering it's been there for 2-3 months.
Cheers

I guess 45L would be fair value. 50 still seems a tad overpriced.

The pic is definitely wrong. There should be a W140 in its place. The W220 S Class was introduced in 1999.

i thought s classes were around 30-35 bracket max. 50 laks on a used car. i think i can get a new house in that and get a new car too. s class is not god after all. last the old stock was down to close to 56 laks. something, makes no sense at all. 4000kms is less for sure. in ur case offer 40 i guess.

I had heard of showrooms giving 9 lakhs discount on the S-class to clear stock...but i am not sure if they actually did give that big a discount......do you know of someone who got that price?

I find the 50 lakh price alot too.......if the price is negotiated to 45 or less i guess its a great deal since I will be getting an S-class for the price of an E....and the car is almost as good as new....4000km is peanuts.

Just checked on the MB website.....they have two 2004 S350L for sale with 16,000km and 18,000kms and price tags of 52lakhs and 47 lakhs respectively.......seems like the s-class price in the used market is still bloody high!!
