| ![]() hi people what would be a proper price for an 1996 e250d done abt 60 k kms (genuine)? apparently car's been serviced completly at the merc dealership in hyd, with clear records,(still on the original jks tyres!) what are the avg prices in mumbai, chennai, banglore and other places? hyd market rates are between 6l to 10l for an good w124. heard spare parts are available pretty easily in mumbai.is that true? planning to give the car for the 140 point check up in the dealership,so apart from that should i look into anything else? car's been insured for 4 lacs,so i guess that's the approx insurance market value of the car? |

| ![]() Hi, You can get good cars in the 5.5-7.5l range in Mumbai. For the petrol E220's the range is from 4.5/5 - 7.0l. All depends on the condition number of owners and kms driven. Viper |

| ![]() the w124's your'e getting over there are far too expensive. I would reccomend a petrol any day over a diesel. See if you can get a sparingly used ,well maintained car with a proper service record from the dealership. If you really want to get a w124 for cheap, delhi is a good place to scour. You can get one from 3/4 lacs to 6/7. Don't worry about body damage. That's the easy bit. Your only concern is the engine and mechanicals. If you have any more queries don't hesitate to ask. |

| ![]() Hello, I seen some nice W124 in Mumbai when I was searching for mine ended up buying a W210 anyways getting back to the point the W124 E250 should cost u maximum of 6.5, I had seen a lovely white one well maintained single owner driven for about 80k owner was asking for 6l finally sold i guess around 5.75 was a lovely machine, seen many more price range should be between 5 to 6.5 for a good diesel one, but petrol is more fun to drive trust me ![]() Note from TBHP support: Post EDITED since it contained various [FONT], [COLOR] and [SIZE] tags. | ![]() The Diesel is also a lot of fun to drive. I know now that the W124 is a very difficult car to drive as many people not seem to rate it very high. I own a E 250 D and will keep it forever. ![]() |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() I see this merc everyday and my heart bleeds everytime. I always get this feeling of buying it and bringing it up shape .Is it worth the effort? I don't know a thing about the engine and interiors (pretty wrecked up I'm guessing). if yes, what do you think should be apt price? Last edited by 14000rpm : 8th August 2009 at 22:57. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() This is what they call a bumped up 300d with the old non-encapsulated engine. Bumped up meaning upgraded looks and sometime even papers!! The upgraded looks were sometimes half done. You won't believe this Choksi in mumbai showed me a non upgraded bonnet & trunk w124 with body painted bumpers and told me it is a 95 model E300D! This was in 1998, when I told him I knew my cars he said this was fresh import form Dubai. There were a lot of grey imports that were made to look 93 to 95 models when in reallity they were 86 to 92. So pricing will depend on which year this was actually manufactured. If 86 through 92 I think range is 2 to 3.5 for immaculate cars. Last edited by canonball : 9th August 2009 at 12:20. |

![]() Effort is only worth if restoring something is your trip, have money and time. What its worth should probably decided by deducting cost of missing parts from cost if car was in immaculate condition. | |
