Re: Does it make sense to buy a 6-cylinder diesel BMW 330D that's run 8000 kms?

It’s definitely a good choice given you adore this car. In my opinion, you'll have to use the convertible top often to keep the components moving. You'll also need to keep a check on the rain gutters and seals, which are prone to get clogged with leaves and debris. For this reason, some people shun sunroofs, so anything like this is a leap forward.Your profile indicates that you are based in Bangalore, which is a relief in concerns of corrosion. I also hope you have a well-protected garage.

I’m okay with the two doors, and the lack of space at the rear as it wouldn’t be used most of the time except to put luggage.
You appear to be well-versed in the trade-offs you'll have to make in terms of trunk capacity. I’m guessing the storage area will look something like this, if not the same.

Update: Owner has decided to retain the car so it’s back to the search again.

Finally what happened? Did you buy the car?
Even I want (want, not need ) a hard top convertible. My 330i has a tiny sunroof and even though it's tiny, we enjoy it a lot. I can only imagine the fun a complete convertible will be. I don't like diesels but this thread rekindled the "want". A quick google shows me there are hardly any had top convertibles on sale in India right now! The ones available are above 1 crore!
