Well it depends on how you look at it and how you prioritize things.

Well i'd choose the laura since i dont think i would not llike to be maneuvouring something as big as this Ford in such long traffic. (But in which place on earth do you have a 60-70km distance full of traffic!!). But as soneone said earlier, if its that macho image that you give priority to. Then its surely the 'Endy'

Well not sure of that, but i still see a good number of old octi's moving around. So i think the skoda's should be good for that. But surely the Endy too should not give you a problem in such short term.

Well Both are equally well known for their terribly bad service mentality. So i dont hink you have a choice here. But here again i depends on the individuals at each service centre. A good person could make you feel less bad. Just chek out the service centres at your place. Any comments friends. Anyone can share their experiences at this place.

Well both dont look so. But the laura looks more modern while the endy looks like solid.

I guess the Laura would win the race here by miles.

The Laura dealers aren't too good either! Don't get your expectations too high from them.

And why this confusion of coming back to teh Laura? Obviously when you booked the Endi you preferred the big sized SUV and the image it carries over the ride quality and other aspects. So you might as well wait for another fifteen days.

I'd never buy a vehicle that runs on leaf springs unless its meant for towing luggage. Dump the endy.

You have to first decide if your next car needs to be an Ute or a Car !!
From there on the choices become clear !

From expierience for regular highway duty nothing beats a SUV. Size does matter there !
For the city The laura is a dream !

Hope this helped.

Why not a Mitsubishi Cedia Sports?

Abhi - If you are okay with a sedan (I see Laura) why isnt the Mitsubishi Cedia sports (~9.5L OTR Delhi) out of your equation? Its got everything you are asking in a lesser budget.

I'm in a fix on deciding which car to go for,

Firstly, my requirements-

- Daily long drives possible 60-70kms full traffic.
- 3-4 years trouble free.
- Spare costs not an issue but good service centre a major factor in decision.
- Should not look outdated.
- Should be fun and fuel efficient.
- No over or underbudget (11-16Lakhs)

Some strict no's-

- No Tata - Current safari TCIC owner since 3.5 yrs - poor service (car still exciting in winters)
- No Hyundai - Don't trust Korean cars, no appeal
- No Chevy - Bad owning experience, poor service, no appeal
- No Octavia - Old, no appeal
- No Corolla - Old, no appeal
- No Civic - Good car, VFM, Fun - somehow puts me off (after alot of thought without any clear reasons)
- No Accord
- No Black Colour
- Not too fond of Vitara

So am left with the significant others - Endeavour and Laura

Please advice for a wise as well as satisfying decision.

Abhishek

before deciding on either, pls take a ride in rear passenger bench seat of the endy you will be able to decide, your decision would be fairly quick post that. The above is based on my personl exp in a friends new endy, its probably as uncomfortable as you imagine with negligible thy support & bumpy as hell..

The Endeavour is a PAIN in the city. If off-roading is not necessary, go for the Lolla and get it Petrified.

If you want to go the SUV way, why not the GV? Its small, cheap (comparatively) and quite competent. Check out the GV ownership thread by Samurai San. I drove the slush box and was highly impressed. Imagine what the manual will do!

Yes it seems so..NDTV's C&B show stated the same, that they have a cheaper CRV coming up.

1. Should i wait for another 15 days or more for the Endy if yes then why not wait till Jan 08 and buy the 2008 model; If i am waiting until Jan for the Endy; why not wait for new cars like Laura RS or maybe Toyota Fortuner or Something similar to be launched?

2. Or should i just buy the Laura in Nov07??

rest i'm not qualified to comment
This is also a very important reason i want an SUV

Cedia can be phased out or discontinued or anything who knows, the new Lancer has already been launched abroad.

Also i would like to add is that the overall ownership experience has a very big role in coming to a conclusion.

I hope i can clear this mess from my head with the help of everyone's opinion.

vitara

Check out the Maruti Grand Vitara. It is a smallish well finished SUV that would give you the advantage of a proven quality product with wide service coverage. Go to ----> Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
