Oops!

Okay, not too fond of Vitara, I did not see that. That leaves Scorpio SLX or wait until the luxury Scorpio Eagle comes out. Trouble with this is twofold. Service is moronic and Scorpio will come out with a new engine soon. You do not want to be the test bed for a new engine especially with Mahindra's service reputation.

Mitsubishi Pajero?

Mitsubishi Pajero (not Montero) is quite old the world over with dated looks and an ancient engine.

Add to this spares costs a bomb, a tail lamp assy costs 80 grand... oh boy ; but the Pajero is a reliable and proven performer though

any insight in engine details of these cars. In one of the thread I heard Laura requires change of timing belt @ 60k km. This could be very expensive.

I'm in a fix on deciding which car to go for,

Firstly, my requirements-

- Daily long drives possible 60-70kms full traffic.
- 3-4 years trouble free.
- Spare costs not an issue but good service centre a major factor in decision.
- Should not look outdated.
- Should be fun and fuel efficient.
- No over or underbudget (11-16Lakhs)

So am left with the significant others - Endeavour and Laura

Please advice for a wise as well as satisfying decision.Abhishek
Abhishek, its rare(good) to see someone who dont care much about the spare/service costs . Since its not an issue with you ,i would suggest a Laura without a doubt ... Its a beautiful vehicle(ofcourse i am biased) and the ambiente version fits the bill perfectly .as for the service ,Giriraj motors(gurgaon) and Commercial auto(noida) are better than the dealers in new delhi. Stay away from Skoda dealers in delhi ,they are pathetic .

New endeavour is a vast improvement but still way behind the competition ..If you are looking for a SUV ,wait for the Captiva but it may be over your budget by a couple of lakhs .

androdev, here i would slightly differ from you , i think the ambiente version is a pure VFM ...cant think of a better pricing ...the L&K may not be a VFM like ambiente but its pure luxury ... VFM - laura ambiente .. Luxury - L&K .
just my 2 paise .

I think the OE bridgestones are preety good tyres .ya they are noisy but only on rough roads ,very quiet on good tarmac(there are some tyres available in the market that are much noisier than the OE tyres)
