Consider the Volvo S80, quite comfortable and heavily discounted right now (ex-sh 35lacs advertised).

If it fits in your budget, there's nothing like the A6 3.0 TDI Quattro, but maintenance I have no clue about, when I went to Audi last they were talking about "Audi Secure" and if they've introduced it you should definitely go for it.

If it's just peace of mind and outright performance, the 530D with BMW Secure it is.

The 520D is a good choice to save some serious cash for whatever other purposes.

Guys my uncle (maternal side) wants to buy a car in the bracket of (45-50 lacs) for the kids of the house and i am from that house only . now i want a diesel car. running wont be much and not a daily ride for sure!

He has given me three options to choose from Merc E 280 CDI or Audi A6 (3.0L) or BMW 5 Series. now my confusion is which one to buy. Please throw some light on which car will more suitable. inside cabin space and rear seat leg room is of great importance. Is there any great difference in BMW 520 and 530? pardon my ignorance but i have no knowledge about this catergory of cars.

I can get you a Volvo S80 D5 for 32L ex-showroom, that is IF you like the VOLVO. 5 cyl diesel 185 bhp.

Give it a thought. I may have picked it up BUT for the cash flow. Take a drive - you will not be disappointed.

Cheers

+1 to the Volvo. Very sensible and good looking car and the quality is nothing less than the German treo. You won't be disappointed. If I was buying a car in that range, it would be between the s80 or the bimmer.

Also the d5 is a pleasure to drive and quite economical too.

At least check the car out.

cheers

volvo seems to be popular here but from what i know the volvo showroom at moti nagar has been shut down. will still give it a serious thought. anybody knows where in delhi can i find their showroom?

i have been driving a diesel car for more than 4 years now and no petrol car seems to impress me. i have not TDed any of the cars yet! so cant comment on the petrol versions of the machines.

Hmm maybe you could contact Ricky_63 on his offer then. As for diesels, the ones that you get today, especially the ones you're looking at, have gigatons of torque and will never fail to put a grin on your face when you feel the itch to floor it.

hopefully will get time to TD all the cars this weekend. will pay special attention to the 520d and volvo s80!
my only concern with the s80 would be after sales service and maintenance.

Where were you sir a month back !! 32L seems real cheap and tempting for an S80. Also 185bhp is not too bad if performance is not you are after. Had briefly experienced this car at Harpreet Volvo (now closed) earlier this year. It looked like a car with solid build, very comfortable and a practical buy.
