W123 more modern & refined can also be used as a practical everyday car intermitantly less cumbersome to drive in comparision to 114/115 and all w123's came with power steering most 114/115 did not have this especially the ones in India. Looks wise 114/115's have the classic standing headlight look something of nostalgic value to me. Good time to look at w123's, there is an ad in Tbhp classified by a fellow member of a good car worth checking out and it is in bangie I would say she is seriously worth a look

in Bangalore? There was only one I saw in the classified section BLue color asking for 3.5 L. I did bother to look at it as I had read his purchase thread and was not sure of why he would sell in a few months of buying and especially with the funny noise he reported. Also 3.5 for 123 is too much. Do you know of any other. I saw one yesterday very sad a rust bucket but smooth engine.

Hey machdar do you see a trend here Anyway go check out the blue one what do you loose the noise may be fixable and he may be looking to make some margin or may have changed his mind as I recall he bought it for daily use and may have found it cumbersome in relation to more modern cars etc. A good w123 with factory orignal paint and in show condition (no cracked headlights/rust bubbles or any tin work/good tires/no crack on dash/no play in steering/suspension shipshape)with NO work at all can fetch +/- that price (i.e the balck one in Kerala pics else where here) although off late I see prices on this particular model are soft. Take a guy who knows 123's with you and do the deal on the spot if you gives you a go ahead I think the guy and you may reach a sensible price Go see it

Re: Mercedes for 4-5 lakhs.

Dont know where else to post this but here it goes...
I have seen a clean and well maintained w202 1995 c180 Elegance auto. Its a single owner vehicle and needs no work. Gear shifting is smooth and the engine is running good.
Suspension is good too. What should be the right price for this vehicle ??

Thanks.

Re: Mercedes for 4-5 lakhs.

There is a w202 Merc C 220 parked in my building. The driver of that house informs me that it is for sale. He is open about the fact that the fuel pump is shot and costs over a lakh.
The body doesnt look corroded.
Any sense in approaching the owner at all ? Is it a Merc that would be worth making road worthy ?

Ask him how much he's asking for it. If you really want to buy it then get a mechanic (or any mechanic dealing in Mercs) to inspect it thoroughly. If the owner refuses then I'd walk away. Also, I doubt a W202 would fetch more than 3-4L even in good condition (correct me if I'm wrong, basing my judgement on the W203's pricing).
