Maserati GranTurismo

Guys, I am planning to import a Maserati GranTurismo into India. I believe the car costs about £80000 in the UK. What do you guys think? Is it a good car to have? Are there any in the Delhi region already?
And how much do you reckin it'll cost me. I believe the £80000 is inclusive of VAT in the UK (which will come out cos its an export). So guys, what do you think? How good and how much? Thanks so much!!

If I'm not wrong, there's a dealer in Mumbai who specialises in Maserati's. You might want to get in touch with them. If possible, find out how the other Gran Turismo's (esp in Bangalore) were imported. Your job will be a lot easier.

I agree with f450.
The dealer in Mumbai located near Mahalaxmi should make it a lot easier for you.

AFAIK national garage are not offical dealers for ferrari and maserati. Why dont you speak to Hong Seh directly and then have a reutable agent clear the car for you. You will definately save atleast 20% going this route.

Well actually I was planning to just contact the UK office directly, because that way I would be able to get the 15% VAT back also, and since the pound is down right now, it may actually prove to be cost saving.
Apart from that, do you guys think I should wait for the Jag when it comes to India or do you still think Maserati is the best option?

Depends...what Jag are you thinking of? If it's the XF, then the Maserati equivalent would be the Quattroporte, not the Gran Turismo.

No No... I wasn't looking at the XF in particular. And I for sure only want the GranTurismo, not the Quattroporte! I was just making a general suggestion asking whether I should wait for the Jag or not, considering that Jag is launching in India soon (or so I heard!). Do you think there will be a big price differential between the two companies?

Speak to Fireblader85. He's involved in the import car business.

Isn't the Jag couple based on XF releasing shortly? The supercharged engine on that is supposed to be great on a very good car.

ecosse,

Go for it. Tata has already announced their plan to start sales and services on Maserati from mid 2010.

I think owning Maserati would be a unique experience.
