| ![]() Looking to buy a BMW 5 series into the garage after my brother sold our old 530D to get the A4. I am confused between which one should I go for, 520D seems quite pocket friendly and I will be using this car mostly for city driving only but again... 530D was a blast to drive when I had it but is almost 7-8 lacs more than the 520D. What do you guys recommend? I was even thinking about going for a less used 530D highline but heart always says to go for the brand new ![]() |

| ![]() Well, the only practical choice you have is 520D. After spending additional 8 lacs, when & where will you "blast" in mumbai??? |

![]() But anyway, here I agree that the 520D should be a more sensible option for you considering most of the driving will be done in the city. Tell you what, try finding a pre-owned 530D which is still under the service plan. And get it extended. It will be the best of both worlds, you won't have to spend the whole 8L more.

| ![]() Also spiff is the car going to be chauffeur driven or self driven? If chauffeur then go for the 520D. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Get the Bury 8 Blackberry kit for the Bimmer when you buy it ![]() I say find a decent highline as someone mentioned, best of both worlds. |

And have the car inspected and checked thoroughly. If possible, find one with the extended BSI plan or purchase one when you get the car. Peace of mind ownership + kick-*** performance. Unbeatable.

What is the going rate for the 525d? I forgot to mention in my PM the other day that all these cars are on discounts, bargain hard and you might just get a deal that will convince you to get a new 530d. Why buy used when you can afford a new one, just my two bits ![]()

| ![]() what about 530i guys?? new one is about 1.5 lac cheaper than 530D so I figured after 20,000 kms driving in a year I will end up saving more on the petrol ![]() |

Add to that the generally lower running costs. I think the D's make more sense as a buy in the higher echelons of our automotive industry.

Team-BHP Support ![]() ![]() | ![]() I guess the only A4 that one would sell a 530 for would be the 3.2FSI! Still have it? Between the 5 series, it is the 530D that is the one of choice. MOST fun to drive. If you have the budget, don't look anywhere else. |
