Yes it does, it comes with a 6 speed manual transmission,my uncle owns a superb( the new one)and I think that the superb is really a nice car to be driven around in. Corolla altis diesel must be good for FE but the performance part won't be there at all.

Superb also comes with a MT option but i recommend the DSG over it anyday. The 7 speed DSG is a brilliant transmission(Except for the slight lag at start up).

Corolla has very good rear seat with adequate space and very good NVH insulation but this car is best suited for chauffeur driven purpose. And it's no match for the Superb which is a class apart, once inside the Superb feels and drives like a 40lakh rupees c

I think MT used to be offered with the TDI but with the pricelist I got a few weeks ago there is only a TSI manual. TDI is only 6 speed DSG.

It does. However, the DSG is the tranny of choice. For one, the DSG is unbelievably smooth & quick. Second, the MT is a pain to drive in the city. The Superb's low rpm throttle response is poor; you will frequently end up stalling the engine.

All new Passat is still some time away. Current generation is completely overshadowed by the Superb.

I would vote for the Cruze since it is an Accord equivalent new generation car at a compelling price point. Back seat will be similar to the Merc, at the same time running costs and maintenance should be much lower.
