Re: BMW - 2nd year insurance quandry

Thanks mints21 and ghodlur :

@ghodlur : BMW Secure is an add-on apart from the comprehensive insurance, but funnily enough the BMW dealer will not allow you to buy any comprehensive insurance and then add-on the Secure product. The comprehensive has to be from the dealership itself. It maybe BMW policy or the dealer wants to make some more commission.

The BMW service center where my car will go is the one offering it am assuming they will have a cashless since this is a special BMW insurance product , but best to ask !

For the benefit of other owners , since I pushed the prices down a lot will post my findings on the 2nd Year Insurance

IDV 25.2 lacs , didnt have a NCB
ICICI Lombard (0.58L)+ BMW Secure Ultimate (0.61L)* - 1.19 L
Bajaj Allianz + BMW Secure Ultimate* - 1.13 L
ICICI Lombard - zero dep , alloys, engine , return to invoice , key - 0.78 L
Tata AIG - zero dep , alloys, engine , return to invoice , key - 0.88 L
IFFCO Tokio - zero dep , alloys, engine , key - 0.63 L
IFFCO Tokio - zero dep , alloys, engine , key, car replacement - 0.68 L

* BMW offers three options for an add-on insurance over a comprehensive insurance.

BMW Secure Essential (0.45L) : Tyre + Alloys + Zero Depriciation + Consumables + Key
Loss + Road Side Assistance
BMW Secure Advantage (0.54L) : Secure Essential + Engine Shield + Interior Protection +
Personal Belongings
BMW Secure Ultimate (0.61L) : Secure Advantage + Car Replacement + Daily Rental
Allowance

So looks like I am going with IFFCO TOKIO but still at half price it still looks too good to be true.

As per my current findings, IFFCO TOKIO doesn't cover hydrostatic lock. so either they have changed there policy covers recently or you have been misled. Please confirm once.
