that must be inclusive of the car jacking kit. I believe the X1 spare wheel 135/80 R17 was available for about 20-21k. the same could fit 3 series. the one for 5 series 5 series could be more expensive.
They sell / provide as Kit including Jack , Gloves & Tire . Prices will vary depending on Model - more like 25-35 K

were you able to confirm from the dealer if BMW have made some space in the boot to hide the spare, or are they still strapping the spare in the boot,
They have added some hooks to keep the spare in place

I am pleasantly surprised with suspension & overall ambiance of my new 530. As of now I have not driven beyond 100 so can't comment on high speeds but in everyday city driving its much quieter, seats are much better cushioned and ride is far better than my old 530 .

Re: Luxury Sedan Advice Needed - A6 vs E-Class vs 5-series

Test drove the Audi A6 2.0 TDI on 13/08/2013 Premium variant(LED starts from Premium Plus), from AUDI Cochin. The sales guy was okay.
Pros
1. Good all rounder
2. Decent to drive and ride is good too
3. Gear box- I think this is the smoothest gearbox(?)
4. Engine- very very refined even on the outside
5. Fit and finish(I found it better than Mercedes and almost equal to BMW(?))
6. 2 lakh exchange bonus
Cons
1. Looks(in family, they feel Mercedes is better )
2. Air suspension and Gearbox(long term reliability(?))
3. Back seat comfort( but still better than BMW)
4. Biggest central tunnel among the three(I may be extremely wrong here)
5. Snob value(at least in smaller cities of Kerala)
6. Resale value
I heard that it has higher road noise compared to the competition(i Personally didn't check it)
Plan to drive Jaguar XF 2.2l diesel for completion sake(have no interest in buying it). Will take the decision in 6 weeks.
Thanks

Dear Nitinmurali,

IF you are going to drive yourself and don't mind the spare wheel intruding into your luggage space, simply go for the BMW 5. My recommendation would be the 530D or at least the 525D. If you need the luggage space, like i did, then simply go for the E250 CDI. It drives quite well and is so comfortable inside. A6 and Jag 2.2XF can't come near these two cars.

Mercedes Benz are increasing prices from September 1st. So, they are trying to push as much cars as possible this month. Some good discounts and maintenance offers are available. Good luck!

Re: Luxury Sedan Advice Needed - A6 vs E-Class vs 5-series

Has Audi pulled the plug on A6 3.0TDI ?
I'm planning to buy either that or the 530D, while on enquiring they said , Audi has stopped assembling the A6 3.0 TDI.
Inputs regarding the purchase is needed , I'm inclined towards the 530d is there any other alternative with a 6 Cylinder engine?

Yup. now you get either the 35 TDI or 35 TFSI. If you are lucky, you may find one in stock at a dealer.
other than 530D, your option are E350 CDI, which has been launched recently, or the Jaguar XF S diesel.

Re: Luxury Sedan Advice Needed - A6 vs E-Class vs 5-series

There is one at stock but it comes without the goodies which they call the premium edition ,but the SA is pushing me towards the A4 with a flat discount of 9 lakhs.
I even enquired for the S4 but they seem too reluctant to even take a booking.
The E looks too soft in my opinion, not as sporty as the 5 or the XF S.
What kind of offers can i expect on the 5 or the Jag?

Re: Luxury Sedan Advice Needed - A6 vs E-Class vs 5-series

The much awaited review is finally here.
The Jag looks the best of the lot while the same can't be said for Interior and driving dynamics.
The 17" Wheels looks hideous on the Jag.

Can someone throw some light on discounts that can be expected on 530D? Planning to book one before the Price hike.

I think there is a discount of about 6L on the 530D. This was definitely the best car I drove while making my recent purchase. But please be aware that it has almost no leg room at the back. If you are tall (as I am), no one can sit behind you. The 320D has more legroom and the 320DGT has lots more, but neither is as plush as the 530D.

It'll be for me and me alone;occasional co passenger and it's because of the power it packs , I want it.
Are you sure it's 6 lakhs?
The dealer in my city say no discounts whatsoever and wouldn't pick a car of my colour choice either.
While, I'm in talks with another dealer who is offering around a lakh plus another lakh for doctors so all in all I'm getting two lakhs

Btw, you have yourself a 530D?

Buy it from the Mumbai dealer and they will coordinate with your dealer to get registration done.

Both are offering 6 L discount. I am not sure you will get a choice of colours with that discount. 4 -5 L should be there even with choice of colors
