Nissan Altima or Sonata 2010 (in Dubai)?

hi, need expert advice, my brother who's in dubai is planning on buying either 1 of the above cars! i know hyundai has a bad image as far as high end cars but they have really outdone themselves with this one! leaving aside the cost difference as this does not matter which car would be the better one, also since this is dubai ,mileage is not a big issue! they are both automatic and 2.5 lt engines, please advice

sonata YF 2011, turbo, 2000cc, 276 hp, direct gasoline injection.
nothing else!

I guess I will side with Sid.....let me add that Altima is poor handler too, too much body roll (most mainstream Hyundai's are prone to that) but the Sonata is a much better buy in this case comparing the two side by side.

But anyway in Dubai huh....whats the budget he has to play with. There can be other cars to chose from.

I would say the new Sonata. Altima is a good car, but the current design looks very similiar to the previous generation and not very much impressive. Dont know what Nissan is doing with their designs tese days. The previous generation of Nissan Murano looks much better and mean compared to the latest one.ALso - the all new maxima is also not very much ipressive and I dont see many of them even of US roads.

The 2011 Sonata eyes closed! I'd prefer the fully loaded one. But again, for 35k more, you could get the base Genesis, which IMO is VFM. What's his budget?

Trust that is a typo since the Altima is from Nissan.

Altima is 5+ years old and not been updated.

Sonata is all new for 2010 and definetly the way to go.
