Is buying an e60 530d highline (new) a sensible option?

The dealership is offering gr8 discount on a brand new e60 530d highline . the car even comes with the new idrive seen in the f10 . Looks are highly subjective but i personally like it much better than the f10.

I need a proper advice if it would be a good decision to get it after disposing my 3 series.

thanx a ton.

It is more focussed to drive than the F10. How much discount is being given ?

There is nothing wrong in getting a e60 5 series now, if you are getting a hefty discount on it. How much discount are they offering?

If the discount it isn't that huge then I would suggest you go for the new F10.

I checked it out yesterday at the dealership (the 523i) and I felt it is much better than the E60.

Yes the E60 is a great car and still looks awesome. But few years from now (or even earlier) it's value will drop a lot and will feel much older.
Its an old gen car.

Buying this car would be as same as going for a Merc W211 E Class when you can buy the new W112.

All the best!

After driving the 3-series you will be disappointed by F10's steering and overall driving dynamics. But with E60 you'll feel right at home with similar or better driving dynamics then 3'er. I say go ahead and take the plunge with E60 530D highline. Its one hell of a car to drive. 0-100 in 7 secs they say???

make no mistake the 530D is an AMAZING CAR ! so what if its the last generation ? big deal man ! LOL. 231hp 500NM is fast by any standards & as u mentioned, though looks are subjective , at least i know more people who absolutely go ga-ga over the e60's looks than not ! Its sexy, there is no denying that ! If you are getting it at a good value, dont even think twice. you might just change your mind and end up missing out on a monster of a vehicle

well thanx guys. drove the f10 525d and felt it is more merc than BMW . steering is lifeless and light , body rolls on turn in and feels nowhere as connected as the 3 series or the e60 5 series. the only think that is visibly superior to the e60 is the interior quality but the e60 is not bad either. moreover i am getting a fully loaded version at approx 40lakh ex showroom . anybody interested in my 320d ?

At 40lcs look no further. Get that E60!

The 530D is the best of both worlds. And thankfully BMW launched an all new car and not a better designed E60 (like the Japs do with their cars). Which is a really bad feeling because then the old one looks outdated. But the E60 has it's own style and presence.

F10's interiors are better but I did not realize that you already own a 3 series. So the new F10 was never going to impress you in the handling department.

Do keep us updated!

The silver car? I heard a 39l figure somewhere. 40l is a great price, but try and Bargain a lil more. They are pretty desperate to sell it.

40Lakh as ex-showroom price doesn't look so tempting to me! After 2-3 years the car will depreciate too much so try to bargain hard. I hope they'll reduce the price because there wont be many who's interested in this model.
