I will definitely recommend him. His rates are a bit on the higher side but since my experience has been quite good, I'll get my future conversions from him only.
Can you suggest any other installers too or should I just zero in on them?

I have no idea about any other installers as such. You can do a google search and find out about more installers in the vicinity.

Re: Advice on CNG Conversion

So finally installed Motozen CNG Kit in our Celerio. It costed us around 39k.
No wires were cut as coupler was installed.
Also CNG filter was installed (as seen in pictures below)

Just drove about 50 km after installation.
There is very less difference in pickup, just gears need to be used more
Only Problem is that car now appears to stall as soon as we switch on the car.
Also it vibrates too much at speed of around 25kmph in 3rd gear.
So will get it checked from our installer.
Any suggestions for the same?

This should not happen if the tuning is done correctly. Get all the parts he has installed checked once. If tuned perfectly, the car will run like petrol only without any jerks or excess vibrations. Power will drop 10-15% but the car should be smooth.

Yes. Sorry for not updating the the information.
Had got it checked from the installer the day after reporting the issue here.
Now the car is fine and running smoothly similar to Petrol.

And as you said there is around 10% power drop which is easily manageable by just dropping a gear. For example: Earlier on petrol, car used to pick up strongly from 40kmph in 3rd gear. Now it just needs 3rd gear for it

Re: Advice on CNG Conversion

I had my car converted to CNG many years back & RTO also gave me a new Registration card where it specifies that the Car is a CNG car. After a couple of years, once I reduced my driving, I no longer had the patience to fill CNG, so I removed the CNG cylinder from the Car & also the CNG fittings etc.

I have been driving on Petrol for many years but now I am wondering if its actually OK to have removed the CNG cylinder/fittings & still driving on the CNG registration card? I would assume so because a CNG car is always a Petrol+CNG car. But just wanted to confirm.

To get the CNG endorsement removed, you need to get a letter from a certified shop stating that the cylinder is removed and then get your vehicle re-inspected by the rto.

CNG filter is not necessary to be installed with kit. There is myth that some impurities may sip into the engine. However, it's just a myth. The lubricating oil that enters into the cylinder with cng remains in the cylinder itself. The oil never enters through injection line. A CNG filter is a gimmick addition that comes only with Lovato kit.

Well I meant CNG fitter (some company that fits aftermarket CNG kits) and NOT CNG Filter.

Anyhow, thanks for the clarification.

Are CNG tanks available in "stepney replacement" toroidal tank format? I do not see those being used anywhere. Any reason for that?

CNG cylinder are only available in capsule type cylinders due to sheer pressure they hold i.e. 100x than that of a car tyre.

Re: Advice on CNG Conversion

Dear All,

We've bought a pre-owned Alto 800.

The model is 2020 and it is fitted with a CNG kit from an outside installer.

It came with 39k km on the ODO and now stands at 40k.

The car has had an issue that we're facing since the purchase. The car jerks on both CNG and Petrol like a heart skips a beat.

Any minor pothole on the road will lead to a jerk.

Any solutions..??

Possible solutions:

1. Throttle body should be cleaned.

2. Also check the tappet clearance.

3. The coils may turned weak majorly happens with pressure washing of engine bay that must be avoided. Change the coil n cables if it turned weak.

4. May be a faulty injector issue.

5. Scan with car reader for any error code to find the issue.

6. The engine head replacement may be required as the valve & valve seat may be damaged & need to be replaced. This is majorly caused due to bad air filter or by damaged air filter assembly such that unfiltered air the engine may sip-in.

Its a 2020 model, shouldn't be the issue but get the spark plugs, ignition coils checked and the pcv valve cleaned.

Re: Advice on CNG Conversion

Guys I had retrofitted a Motozen Sequential CNG kit in my Hyundai Accent along with 12Kg EKC cylinder. I had used it for 2 years with no problem. Now I want to sell the CNG kit with cylinder. Can anyone tell the approx price that I can fetch and also some trusted dealers who can purchase it in Delhi/NCR?
