HID's will need ballast to run.
Xenon is the most preferred gas for HID bulbs. HIDs are essentially arc lamps much like the ones we find in movie projectors. The light is produced by the high intensity spark that jumps between the electrodes. And in order to produce this high intensity spark, ballasts are required to boost the voltage to several thousand volts. The output wires of the ballast must never be exposed, coming in contact with them can be FATAL.

The grill was imported from Germany and cost around 5k a piece. The projectors are retro fitted on to the existing headlight assembly and have CCFL angel eyes as park lights. The projector headlight assembly will come around 10k depending on the model and specs. 2-2.5k extra for black reflectors.

Not sure whether it's original or fake. He got it personally from Germany for 5k. Guess it's looks good for that price.

I'm positive they aren't genuine. But, for that price, it works I guess

Re: Projector Headlamps for VW Vento

Friend of mine got it done to the sealed beams of his Toyota Corolla at Four Seasons Automobiles (Mumbai) and is very happy.
They do it in house, takes two days and comes with a 12 month warranty; though I don't know what it costs. He got the Bi-Xenon Angel eyes+ Demon eyes fitted. Will try to post pics and price.

Re: Projector Headlamps for VW Vento

Here are the pictures of the Toyota Corolla with Angel + Demon Eyes fitted. This is a white with blue combination. It can be done for almost all Indian cars, there is a choice of 6 ring & projector colours and comes with a 12 month warranty. It is done in house at Four Seasons Automobiles (Mumbai) and takes two days, costs between 16k to 19k (depending on size of projector) + fitting.
It has been through the monsoon without any misting or fogging issues as you can see (photographs are current).

That does look nice I have ordered GTI emblem, if it looks decent might go for the grill! How difficult is the installation - can it be DIY? Wonder if those DRL fogs will fit the Vento and not void the warranty!

Sounds good. Getting the entire grill fixed is a 5 mins job (legit)

It sure is a DIY. You just need to pop the hood, unscrew 4 nuts & you'd be able to pull out the stock grill out at 1 go.

Hi Naveen,

Could you please let me know more about projector headlights please. I'm keen to upgrade my stock headlights asap.
