Auto Escorts ignition?

Does any of our members have any information regarding the Autoescorts points replacement ignition kit. The intended use is on a Maruti 800. Anybody used it? The advertisement for the same is given in almost all the issues of Autocar/overdrive. But their website doesn't seem to work.

Hmmm... has nobody heard about the Eureka points replacement kits they make for maruti cars, bullets & RD350's? Not even the mumbai fellows?

Strange... the automags carry their ads almost every month!

I too had a Maruti 800 which I sold in 2005. I have used both the Eureka Breakerless Electronic Ignition with MPPS (Magnetic Proximity Pulse Sensing) technology (run around 15000kms) and their Eureka Multi Point Ignition (run around 45000kms) and have found both of them excellent.

Thanks for reminding me about this post Ravi.

These guys supply their Bullet electronic ignition kits to the US and the UK. But the irony is that finding one here locally is difficult.

It's the cheapest points replacement kits available for the Bullet. The disadvantage is that these use the centrifugal mechanical advance unit and other kits use digital curves.

Hi Kiran, I recently found out that RE was selling this kit as an add on through their dealers. I have placed the order with the local Trivandrum Bullet dealer M/s Marikar Motors for your ignition kit. They had the kit ready in stock with them couple of years ago but now they don't have it off the shelf. I should be getting this on Monday. I'm getting two of them.

So finally i got the Autoescorts Eureka electronic ignition kit from the dealer yesterday. Installing it was very simple and i did the installation myself.

Eventhough it's an electronic ignition kit the advance and retard is still controlled by the mechanical advancing system. The ignition timing isn't fixed and it's adjustable just like the original points setup.

I'm yet to take the bike for a real ride. But the feel while starting and puttering around seems to be real good with the Eureka kit. I will key in the detailed riding impression in my next post.

I have fitted Eureka multi point ignition in my Ambassador (1970 model). It's working excellently.

Kiran Bhide, do you still make these kits for cars like Premier Padmini S1? If so, please PM details including cost.

I doubt if Kiran will reply to your above post as it's been more than 2 years since he has been active on this forum. Did you try calling on the phone numbers that were mentioned in his post?

Re: Auto Escorts ignition

I am using the Multi Point Ignition kit in my Ambassador for the past 5 or 6 years. Good performance. Want a kit for a Morris Minor car (OHV engine). Kiran is not answering mails/mobile. Any info?
