Hi, Have any of you tried installing the type 2 instrumentation into a type 1 esteem? What are the mods if possible? This is for an mpfi trasplant into a type 1 esteem.

i didnt get your question but i guess it meant conversion of a type 1 esteem to mpfi.
Well i would suggest you sell your esteem and buy an mpfi one. a 2000 model can be yours for around 1.75 to 2L. Its a better way to spend money.
I have had both the Type 1 as well as the latest one which i got 3 months back. Believe me its awesome. Difference in power is stunning. Go for it.

I have both the carb and mpfi(rally prepared) esteem. Problem is, the rally car has to get to carb ( rally star cup) setup. The complete transplant between the cars including wiring harness, fuel lines,etc is fine, only issue is the mpfi instrument panel cluster fitting into the type 1 dash, as i prefer to retain the respective dashboards........

if u install the mpfi engine in the type 1 esteem,then the instrumentation is also possible.a friend of mine converted his maruti 1000 into a 1.3ltr esteem including the instrumentation....though it required him to change the dashboard too as his dashboard was from the maruti 1000.in the cas of type1 esteem,i guess all you wud have to do is to replace the dials and the warning check lights display i.e.the whole instrument cluster.
