Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

The car looks really good, but I think the glasses don't do justice to it. They could be of a lighter shade to make it more soothing to the eye. Excepting that, the execution, choice of wheels and the color itself is great.
However, I also feel that sticker at the back is a bit out of place . Just my personal view.

Emailed all of them and only Unichip got back to me saying they can get me a box and tune maps for it - they are based in coimbatore and said they'll take 2-3 days to get the maps right. They haven't done a Vento so far. I'm not sure I want my car to be the first one they 'experiment' on.

Pete's said they have one in testing, and it will be out soon, no launch date set.

@d_payne: thanks man, I don't see you active around here, busy doing other things? :P

@nissan1180: appreciate it, headlights will be my next mod for sure. The darkened insides of the headlights really accentuates the color contrast.

Have seen few of them on the net. But pretty expensive. Also hard to find one for the Vento. For something cheap, you have the option of DIY. Something that I have on my Swift.

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

The OE headlamps on the Polo's sold internationally look SUPERB, I was in china recently and saw them on a red car and they look stunning. If you plan to upgrade switch to them only. Projector spoils the Look IMHO. Only smokked black headlamp. Shall go well with your theme.

Anyways, Lovely looking car !! Very tasterfully done indeed.

It should be worth the wait.

Try Race Chip, they might have a tuning kit.

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

@oxyzen: Unichip wanted 20K + installation charges. They offered one year warranty also.
@nkg77: Racechip is cheap! I was surprised to see their rates! For less than 200 Euro including shipping, duties, it's a real bargain! Has anyone on the forums tried it in their Polo/Vento?

Chiptuning of RaceChip - the Powerbox for safe motor tuning
Saw the Racechip videos. They claim to up the power for the Polo TDI 1.6 engine from 105PS to 130PS and the torque from 250Nm to 314 Nm (bringing it to the level of the Optra). All this for about 12k!!

Is it so easy to 'chiptune' your car? Too good to be believable! That can convert someone like me who is not keen on mods (because of the hassles) to go for it!!

Heard a lot about these chip mods and their corresponding bump up in performance figures.
Even read about pete's peted Audi R8.
i would probably wait for pete to come out with the vento one instead of going in for an imported chip.
Mainly because if anything goes wrong or any adjustment is required you would get service backup from pete's.

Re: 2011 Volkswagen Vento TDI - Modded

I have also heard Pete provide tried and tested products. They have even modded a Vento already. Lets see when they come up with the box. And hope they dont price it around 40K like the Ford's.

Aah yes price may be an issue. But if it brings with it reliability, peace of mind and service backup. I would spend the extra for them.
